Good Morning. It's Monday 2nd November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

    Team news for tonight

Liam Cooper is available to face Leicester after recovering from a groin injury, though Diego Llorente and Kalvin Phillips are definitely out.

Leicester full-back Timothy Castagne is out with a hamstring problem. Jonny Evans also missed the win over AEK Athens because of a stiff back is still on the treatment table

Though I'm sure that we will see Jamie Vardy tonight, Leeds fans should be encouraged by the news that the 33yo England forward is not 100 percent fit.

Vardy has been managing a calf issue so has been used sparingly, although that has not slowed down his goal tally down. He scored, having come off the bench last Thursday against AEK Athens , and similarly netted against the Gunners

Former Leeds defender Zaliukas dies aged 36

Former Leeds defender Marius Zaliukas has died at the age of 36, the Lithuanian Football Federation has confirmed.

During his career, the centre back spent time at Leeds, Rangers and Hearts. He made 11 appearances for the Whites during the 2013/14 season.

His wife announced on Saturday that the defender had passed away, 11 days before his 37th birthday. He had been battling motor neurone disease.

Nora Zaliuke wrote on social media: "He will rest peacefully in eternal silence.

"The heart of Marius Zaliukas stopped beating today."

    U23's thrash Palace

Leeds u23's climbed to 2nd place in the table after a dominant display over Crystal Palace.

With the match against Leicester City tonight, Leeds went with a much younger starting line up, with no senior players included.

£900,00 Summer signing Joe Gelhardt returned to the starting eleven while the return of Nohan Kenneh from injury was the main attraction ahead of the game.

Impressive under-18s Max McMillan and Max Dean also started as well as Huggins returning at left-back.

A Gelhardt double, one from Max Dean and an Own goal overran the South London club, making the scoreline somewhat flattering.

A win to cheer us up as we go into the next lockdown would be nice.

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:
On the U23s Matt Leif Davies played the 2nd half so expect him on the bench tonight. He is now classed as first team squad in reality. Yes Joffy was excellent again yesterday but young Max Dean is only 16 and scored 2 in 2 for the 23s so far. He also played in the cup match against Barrow and scored twice against real pro footballers. So looks like another one to watch along with Kenneh who is also a baby

    Morning all.

Looking foward to tonights match which has seemed an eternity since our 3-0 demolition job on Villa. Earliest we could have played is yesterday (with Leicester being in the Europa) but even so that extra day could prove vital for the Foxes....hopefully not.

There will be no surprises in how Brendan Rodgers sets up his team and the onus will be on us to break them down and get that vital first goal.

Perhaps we should have a sweepstake on how many times Vardy will go down in the box with legs flailing ? Hopefully our defenders will have seen how he likes to put the brakes on to invite the contact. Apart from VAR ruining the spontaneity of goal celebrations it's also resulted in far too many penalties being awarded. There are plenty of times you get a kick whilst playing football without a foul being awarded but the extra scrutiny VAR brings is making a mockery of what is still a contact sport.

Hopefully Harrison and costa learn from Vardy. They make so many runs towards the box they should be winning more penalties themselves

    Morning all,

Sad news about Zakulais. He was one of many centre backs who came in around that time who looked excellent and then turned to crap very quickly. Condolences to good his family.

Tonight's game could be a cracker and a good indicator of our level in this league. These are the teams we should be considering our rivals. Not your Brighton, Burnley or Newcastles and the like

Let's remember Leicester were 3rd for most of last season and only fell away due to injuries and not having a deep enough squad to cope. So if they're our rivals then so are Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal etc...

    I like it...as long as you're right <ok>

Based on what I've seen so far this season i so believe that is the level we are at. Obviously this view can be updated as the season goes on.

    Good afternoon.

The consensus amongst Leicester fans seems to be that they hope they will sit back and catch us on the break. It's quite a complement if one of last seasons top five is thinking that bout a newly promoted team.

Leicester themselves are a bit of an enigma. Since winning the league they have finished their seasons 12th, 9th, 9th, 5th. Yes they narrowly missed out on the Champions League last year but it's not as difficult to finish above the likes of scum and Arsenal as it used to be. They're a decent side, but I think some teams will give them too much respect this season.

Jack Grealish (Mr Tumble) is now working as an independent consultant and has a waiting list of clubs.

The latest Premier League opening up for fans lists Elland Road having a maximum capacity of 10,740 as soon as the government allow it

Big Mick McCarthy is taking a nice long holiday in Cyprus as he takes the job to manage Apoel. Think I could do that a bit cheaper. Nice work if you can get it Mick but feel sorry for Apoel fans as free flowing football vanishes and a more boring version of George Grahamball takes over

Talking about mr tumble Grealish, I was watching motd and was quite surprised how Harry Kane, all to easily went down looking for a decision, but he is very clever with it though, the way he looked at the defender on that high ball, then backed into him so the defender went over the top, looked a stone wall penalty until Var looked at it, but Var & ref were only looking at the contact not what happened five seconds before. Brilliant by kane i must admit.
Just makes you wonder how players would have got on with tackles from Hunter,Yates Smith & co, i think we would have seen real tears.
    About tonight
A bit worried by Leicester from what i remember they have always been a bit of a bogey side.

    Not really...

Those of us that spend the most will obviously get first dibs.

Feel a bit sorry for those with discounted seats who won't get back in until 2025 <whistle>
