A Bar in Scotland Bucks Bar started giving away free meals after the owner received a call from a ICU nurse saying there getting more suicide attempts in than covid patients.
Take it from someone who has lived abroad (like others here). It’s the same ****, just another bucket. You get up, you go to work, you come home, you eat, you do chores/housework, you go to bed. For a couple of hours in the evenings and the weekends, you may get the chance to do something different from the U.K., maybe the weather is better. Maybe that’s enough for you, maybe not. Some things your new country will be better than here, other things worse. But whatever ishoos you have with life or people will follow you wherever you go. If you’re an optimistic kind of person, you’ll do well. If you’re a glass half empty kind of person, you’ll find problems, but then you’ll find problems everywhere because you’re a glass half empty kind of guy.

What action are you taking to bring about change? Apart from whinging and doing nothing about others whinging and doing nothing? There weren't strong anti-fascist movements, just a few brave people. Same as in all of Eastern Europe where a lot more were thrown into camps and they had to build walls and barbed wire fences to keep people in. You were free to leave the fascist countries if you didn't like it.
He could emigrate to one of those disobedient countries like Sweden or Norway. Or Belgium. Wild, lawless places full of anarchists. As for Luxembourg and Switzerland...
Would it be rude to ask their ages Dennis? And I don't mean that in a 'well, they were old anyway' sense, more curiousity at what's going on with the virus.
