Well that was an unnecessarily nervy end to the game. Great first half, poor injury time in 2nd half. People might not like Jack Stephens being the scapegoat but Saints conceded 3 goals when he was on the pitch. I like Jack but he is not a Premier League defender at the moment.
SF4L, it was the (perceived) difference between being 4-0 up, with Bednarek on the pitch, then being pegged back to 4-3, with Stephens on the pitch. As Saints fans, we (OK, other people, not you) look for the obvious cause. It is probably because Villa changed their game plan, and as a team we did not respond quickly enough, but for fickle blame-seekers, Stephens is an obvious target.
I'm a little deflated, like the happy pills have nearly worn off. If Danny, Berty and Bednarek are alright though, I'll be buzzing again soon.
I hope Ralph is ripping the crap out of them! 0-4 up without breaking a sweat, organised, confident and totally in control.... What happened? Of course i'm delighted with the win but 30 minutes of utter chaos defensively is not acceptable!
To quote a certain thread creator (Taken completely out of context) "Win wi' Vin" Put another way, "Vin is The Messiah, and I should know, I've followed a few" (Open goal for "He's a very naughty boy")
There 1st goal hadn’t been discussed much. I think it was Stuey who tried to skill someone on the outside of our box, wasn’t the best move to try that there, should have been Burnley’d up the field.
