He's done more than Magennis usually does. He actually tracks back and helps out, rather than just slowly jogging around our front line.
If some of them had rotated they would have been aware of what was happening and Swindon wouldn't have scored.
If Fleming plays and does well in the FA Cup against Fleetwood, drop Elder for him. Elder's the weak link right now.
HT 1-1. And it as going so well. I was going to be positive. And then our defence got caught out yet again, and the team just looked dead from there on. Half the players look knackered and probably should've been rested at some point. At least we have a full week off after this. The left, once again, is an obvious weakness. There's an easy solution. Switch to 4-4-2, move Wilks or KLP up front alongside Eaves, bring Docherty out wide. Give more stability on the left straight away.
I suspect the swirling wind isn't helping but total lack of any organisation in getting the team to play in any shape at all - players all over the place either it isn't deemed important at training or they are completely ignoring what the manager says - we should be well ahead but Eaves and Wilks are so wasteful - unfortunately I don't see any better if Magennis comes on
Our two biggest goal threats prefer being played through the middle. Both have been played out wide all season. I think Swindon will tire second half, our quality will do them, but it's another first half that we haven't taken advantage of.
Our defence looks shaky. They have so much space down the left side and Elder not at the races which is probably unsettling the central defenders. Maybe get Alfie Jones for Elder and try and block off the runs. Overall we should be doing better as Swindon are far from being world beaters.
Don't see it myself, magennis does a lot more stuff off the ball and on the ball then eves, but I suppose that's the beauty of football, we all see it different
wilks needs telling he needs to cut out trying to beat half a dozen opponents everytime he gets the ball.
Magennis has better link up play, but when you watch him off the ball, he tends to just wander around and doesn't drop in to pick the ball up. Eaves sometimes lacks a first touch or fouls his man, but he's much better on the ball than Magennis and he seems much more mobile.
I want a dangerous centre forward not someone who tackles back His hold up play has been terrible Gives away fouls He drifts out wide when he should be in the box And that header was very very poor Saying that there’s not much between them
Thing is, we do have a dangerous centre forward. He scored and is playing out wide. That's the problem.
A decent striker is like gold... but thats definitely the difference between us walking away with this league and being promoted...
