National? Or England doing one thing and the devolved parliaments complying but adding vote grabbing caveats?
I've had absolutely nothing from these vast amounts of billions being handed out.I received £74.35(J S A contribution based, due to paying in and having full contributions for the last 43 years), whist out of work due to covid, and the Government wouldn't top that up as they did universal credit(£20 per week for a year)? To that end and bearing in mind that it's almost certain that tax contributions as a percentage will rise,I've cut my working hours to part time and I won't be earning enough to pay tax!!! I'm all for supporting the economy and have done so all my life but enough is enough.
Oh I agree this has been a brilliant platform for point scoring UP... As for a knee jerk reaction, I think we were following France, Italy and Spains lead... perhaps too slowly... whilst Scandanavia had more time to reflect..
As has been written a global preparation for such an outbreak would have lost 500 times less than the cost now...
I'm point scoring ? For what purpose ? I've never been described as 'brilliant' before, not on here anyhow. So thanks for that but I still don't want to meet you for 'coffee' so don't ask me again.
Like every other possible rare unexpected event, it's a risk/reward judgement that has to be made well in advance. Should taxpayers be funding technology to intercept potential gigantic meteor impacts with planet Earth ? The frequency of such events may well be greater than the likes of COVID-19 pandemics in the history of the Earth. Just ask the dinosaurs. Probabilities determine financial investment.
I don't think so and hope not!! We've(Central Scotland) been under extremely strict measures (verging on lockdown)for about a month now but football has continued .
