I read this thread, but tend not to contribute to it. I'm grateful to @Magnus @Prehab26 @Smug in Boots @Bob Cheval @Wheatsheaf for their info (plus anyone else I've overlooked - apologies), but just take the opinion that while there's definitely something happening it'll only affect my mental health and well-being once it's resolved. As some shyster Yank politician said recently "It is what it is". I doubt I'll ever get to see us win the Premier League, never mind the Champions league, another FA Cup will do for me probably, so trying to second guess professional money/business people is going to stay low on my "to do" list. Enjoy the ride the best you can, it'll work out for SAFC, I'm sure of it.
Sacking Parkinson wouldn't deflect any attention imo. I just don't believe these theories about mind games, Storey being a Donald plant to deflect attention, etc.
I’m not discrediting you in anyway @Wheatsheaf, but looking at what is being said and it being mentioned that you are in contact with one of the owners, if it’s one that many people know likes to talk, I’d take what he is disclosing to you with a pinch of salt.
I would guess that Parky’s safe until the sale is complete. No point going to the expense of sacking him and bringing in a new man if the new owners have their own ideas. We’ll just have to hope that he keeps us in touch at the top.
I reckon it will be Parkinson who goes first, probably after this weekend if it goes tits up at Gillingham.
This. BUT WHAT ARE WE FANS GOING TO DO ABOUT IT... Ha'way the fans group's get something sorted in advance (@Guinness Guzzler any news?).
I was always a supporter of Parkinson because I felt fans had a negative opinion of him before he even had a chance. I was prepared to cut him some slack. I think he knows how to set up a team much better than Ross. Despite being rubbish in many games we arent cut open much. Even on Tuesday, we gave them two goals but they barely had a shot in second half. But therein lies the problem. In the 3 games weve drawn this season, we really should have won. And won convincingly. There just doesnt seem a plan B, sometimes you need to throw a wee grenade into the mix, a Diamond or a Benji, but on Tuesday he took off Wyke and bringing on Graham. Ffs. It's just too bloody rigid. I bet he only does missionary when he rides his wife. I think the next two games are huge for him. Winning them buys him some time. We dont win either hes in a dangerous position
I believe it's already happened which is why things are deathly quiet and why Rodwell had to admit things are serious. I have no time for these claims that Donald, Rodwell, Methven, etc are putting out endless false information to take the pressure off ... ... it puts more pressure on imo. Do you know anyone, at all, who's had their opinion changed by any of it, I certainly don't. Donald can only sell SAFC once and only a 10% drop in his asking price is £3.7 million. That's the figure he's looking at, not the real value of the club and why he's clinging on for the best price imo.
I personally believe (hope maybe) that Cook is waiting for the takeover to be completed then he swoops in on day 2 and that's why he hasn't taken a job at present.
You're spot on there mate. You can only use 3 subs but having 3 keen young lads as unused subs is still a tactical move. Wyke wouldn't want to be brought off for Kimpioka nor Power for Diamond. So you might squeeze another bit of effort out of them. But, as you say, leaving Graham on the bench and sending Kimpioka on would really shake things up.
Good shout to be fair......we dont look a side capable of going up automatically, but parkinson & the way the tide is now turning is not even looking capable of limping us through to january staying reasonably in touch If Bally could steady the ship a little until new owners come in & appoint the right man.....then we need to prepare for BIG january, if we continue as we are much longer were looking at playoff at best.....& we all know how that ends!!!
