Certainly looks the part so far this season. I said last year on RTG he will be a big player for us and got slagged off by the usual suspects. He’s proven a lot of people wrong so far imo (the same suspects have gone quiet may I add)

Another reason we have to go up this season, there is not a chance he will stay if we are in this league for another year.

Hes pretty decent. I still think he's very raw though, so getting him poached from a Championship club hasnt even crossed my mind yet.
Hes our first choice LB, the best way for him to progress is to stay. He'd be daft to think he could walk into a Championship clubs first 11

He can go past players at will. he can put in a killer cross, his tackling has improved greatly, he only needs to find an extra bit of composure in both boxes, which should come with experience, if so, he will find himself in demand top half of the Championship within a year. One or two of his runs this season have been of Premiership quality and that's were he could well end up imo..

This season for me as well as playing better he is bigger and stronger, but if he keeps improving we will have a problem hanging onto him!

I’ve said since I first saw him almost exactly that. Looks a very good player in the making. Still raw but I think he’d comfortably cut it in the championship. Imagine if we had a striker who gambled in the crosses he puts in!!!

Considering the quality of his team mates I think he's doing well. With a good coach guiding him he could be playing in the PL.

I was so impressed how he kept going at Rochdale when some were flagging.

Excellent attacking fullback for this level, when he cuts inside and has no option but to switch it his delivery can be a little off. I’d like him to work on his right foot and become comfortable using it.

Yes it is noticeable his right peg is no where as near as good as his left. I thought academies these days worked on this?

In mitigation, it was often said Beckham was a one foot, one trick pony... but what a foot and what a trick... how many England caps :emoticon-0103-cool:

I think it should be mandatory that at least once a week you’re only allowed to use you’re weaker foot. If he cut inside and could use both feet you wouldn’t know what to do against him.

Hes been our best player this season and generally hes our most important player in games. Unless hes ticking down the left then we are toothless pretty much otherwise.

He has the potential to play in the Premier League but be has to put the work in. Most importantly he has to work on his physical side, he must be 10 stone wet through. The lad needs to do some serious hours on the leg press and add some muscle to his upper body too

It didn’t hamper Beckham either but those two were world class, similar to Robben.

I openly admit I was not a great admirer of Hume when I first saw him a few years ago, Thought he was quick but couldn't defend, couldn't tackle, couldn't head a ball, couldn't cross a ball. From what Ive seen this season he's a big improvement so far.Well done to him

Not so sure on Premiership capabilities though, but Im not that good a judge.

Still needs to work on his defending, far too easy to change direction against him and lose him. He's definitely improving though and long may it continue

he has made big leaps from last season...all in all, minutes/games played he has to be our 'Mister Consistent' so far, not really doing anything special, just tries to keep it fairly simple and likes to get involved...so many players fail themselves at this stage of their careers by thinking getting in the first team means they have 'made it', he looks like he is still building on what he knows and as long as he stays willing to learn then he could have a damn good future.

My theory is that there are three main attributes that a footballer needs, physicality (pace or strength depending on position) skill and strong mentality.

A league one player only needs one to be decent, a championship player needs two and a premier league player needs all three.

I'd say Hume has all three albeit in raw states and in a bang average team. If he went to a better team he'd flourish I'm sure and could play at the highest level as he matures.
