Burnley are a **** club, **** fans, **** ground, zero ambition to progress as a club. Deserve to go down and restart their rivalry with Bradford City. **** em.

Oh and man up Ell. If you were a dog you would have been put down by now.

Off subject, but are you watching the Rhinos tonight. I didn't know they were playing Monday and only tuned in to see the second half when they were 18.16 down. Good result in the end. Still don't understand them putting a young side out against St Helens and then a stronger side against Castleford.

They have something like 6 games in 18 days. Rugby league is one of the few sports where the players need minimum a week to rest their bodies. It's an impossible work load so I think they will be lots of changes every game for now.

I won't be watching. I'm up in the Lakes and am a bit isolated up here. Barely have enough signal to get on here. I love it up here but it's been a bit wild to say the least. I've been battered to hell on my hikes and runs but I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Enjoy the game.

Cheers. My Uncle loved the lakes back in the day. Have a good time Emu. <ok> I appreciate it's a strength and energy sapping sport, but I was still surprised they played the kids against a team on a 10 game winning streak.<ok>

I assumed they conceded the match to St Helens and put a stronger side out because they fancied they could beat Cas

Yep. As the Duke says it's about getting a top 4 spot. It's likely a full strength team would still have lost against Saints and it would have been a tough game. The game against Cas was more winnable at lesser of a cost.... supposedly.

This year is just about boxing smart in the league. Rhinos might be ****ed anyway as 12 of the Castleford squad have tested positive for Covid 2 days after they played Leeds. I'm suprised this game is still on.

Sad if true. I'd always like to see the strongest side played. Salford then beat St Helens because the Sts had a weakened side. Salford the same team that Leeds beat in the cup.<ok>

The football works as well as can be expected in these times of Covid but sadly the Rugby isn’t. Both the union and league version has suffered badly, seriously, how can they play a game on average every 3 days.

If, like me, you ever wondered why Wee Billy was banned sine die from the Scotland team (link cropped up on the Tartan Army FB page ....

    https://www.thefreelibrary.com/SFA ...OA5tQNo5ADJ_Yq6vJFeQOIXf5QUXkSEASt7KkxC5jE9zc

SFA were happy to ban Billy after he took on Danish cop; 21 years on, JOE HARPER lifts the lid on Copenhagen bust-up.

Emotional Joe Harper has revealed the true story behind the banning of the Copenhagen Five - and urged Scotland's football bosses to finally clear Billy Bremner's name.

Former Aberdeen star Harper has ended a 21-year mystery by talking for the first time about the incident in a Danish nightclub which brought an end to Bremner's international career.

He insists that SFA chiefs had it in for Bremner, who died tragically of a heart attack on Sunday, and were waiting for the chance to hammer him.

Now Harper wants Park Gardens bosses to end a vendetta with the man he rates as the greatest Scottish captain of all time and sanction a permanent monument to Bremner outside the new Hampden.

Harper said: "If any Scottish player deserves to be honoured it's Billy Bremner. The SFA should erect a statue of him outside the front of the main stand.

"That way they would provide the country with a fitting and lasting tribute to an all- time great - and it would also be the perfect way to bury the hatchet after 21 years."

Harper and Bremner were banned sine die from Scotland's national side after the notorious night out following a 1-0 European Championship win over Denmark.

Team mates Arthur Graham, Pat McCluskey and Willie Young were also banished.

But the truth behind the bust up has remained a secret until now.

Harper said: "The five of us were in a nightclub after the game - we had been given permission to go out by the manager because we'd won.

"Arthur and I were having a drink with the guy who ran the nightclub and the other three were at the bar.

"It was quiet with only about 10 people inside. Anyway, Willie Young accidentally broke a light and that's when it all started.

"He was asked to pay for the damage - then they said it would cost something ridiculous like pounds 500.

"Willie told them where to go and the next thing the police were called. They told him to pay up but there was no way he was going to give them that kind of money.

"Things got a bit heated and the police told them to go outside. As they were going down the stairs, big Pat leaned into the back of one of the cops who then threw him down the stairs.

"When wee Billy saw what had happened to his mate he got involved and a scuffle broke out between him and the cop. But that was all it was, a wee scuffle.

"Arthur and I ran down and tried to sort the thing out and the police let us all go back to our hotel in a taxi - that's how bothered they were.

"Mind you, they did tell us that if they saw us in Copenhagen again we'd be done.

"We went away thinking it was all over, but someone had spotted us and alerted the media or SFA."

Bremner's international career was over - capped for the 54th and last time in Denmark.

Harper, who scored the winner that night, said: "When we heard we were banned for life it came as an unbelievable shock.

"We asked for a hearing but they turned us down. No-one even told us WHY we'd been banned.

"One of the Kellys at Celtic then told me that if I didn't kick up any more of a fuss I'd be back in within a year along with Arthur. They knew we hadn't been directly involved.

"Sure enough, just over a year later, we were both picked but the other three never wore a Scotland shirt again.

"The SFA had made a pact after the Jimmy Johnstone rowing boat incident ... the next one to step out of line was getting hammered.

"But I'm convinced they held a massive grudge against Billy and they were delighted to get the chance to ban him. He was always the one who spoke up when he thought the players were getting a raw deal on bonuses and the like.

"He wasn't afraid to talk about all the freebies the SFA fat cats were taking. That's why we left Denmark on Thursday and by the Sunday we were banned for life. They couldn't do it quickly enough."

Harper even consulted a QC about taking the SFA to court but was advised that legal action would do more harm than good.

Harper added: "Billy was well liked by everyone except the people who ran the national side. That was because he liked a bit of fun.

"When Willie Ormond was the manager he once ran into his hotel room, saw him in his pyjamas and called him Wee Willie Winkie.

"It was all just a laugh but it was frowned upon by the officials. He was just a typical Scot, a wee guy with the heart of a lion, a working class boy who made it to the top.

"Bremner was the best. I've played with Dalglish and the rest of them but Bremner was the greatest.

"He was the guy with the baton who conducted the orchestra. He did the same job guys like Souness, Wilkins and Gascoigne have done since - only he did it better.

"The guys who played with Bremner don't have a bad word to say about him. They say he was a great and they know what they're talking about. Let's hope the SFA show the same kind of sense."
