I'm not really that interested who likes of does not like the manager, everyone is entitled to their opinion. however what I like is the position we are in the league, last season I think we all agree was a total disaster however I am enjoying that winning feeling and it certainly makes the beer go down well in a Saturday night, just hope it carries on, yes we will have poor periods that's why it's so important to get the points on the board early like we have. I actually get up on a Match day with that buzz again something I totally lost last season. Yes we shouldn't be in this league but unfortunately we are so the quicker we get out the better and that's in the right direction of course. Despite what some think once you go down its never easy because you haven't got the momentum of a team that has been promoted. There is a number of ex premiership sides in this league who are finding it hard to get out of. Once relegated you have to rebuild, regain confidence with it momentum then you have a chance. That's us at the moment and despite some on here pre season not giving us much of a chance well we have put ourselves in a very decent position but it's still very early days, I just hope it continues and despite everyone's differing opinions on this or that I am pretty sure we all want the team to do well.

    Dribbles.
5 in the whole 90 minutes.
That's why football has become so predictable and by and large boring for large chunks of the time.

I can't argue with Eaves as man of the match. Nobody contributed more and he wasn't part of the dire first half.

You say that, but on the MOM thread I think I'm the only person to put him in first, and he hardly appears overall.

    Good post.

Could be wrong but the vibe I get both during and after games seems to be one of we could be in a false position or one of impending doom when we concede. Certain posters obviously don’t like the idea of McCann still being here and go to great lengths to voice that during a game but at the end of the day this is a football forum and with Covid stopping a terrace tirade against McCann options are few and far between. For the record McCann in my humble opinion he should have gone last season and whilst I genuinely don’t have a clue we’re we will finish this season McCann will either prove a lot of people wrong and get the key to the City....or eventually lose his job.

You seriously think we aren't better defensively than last season?

C'mon, we're miles better, we'd have conceded to a pub team last year.

This league is clearly weaker but it's not easy, we're just making it look that. If it was that easy, Sunderland would have got out of it, they've even been in it with parachute payments. As would Ipswich, Pompey etc

The defence is miles better due in no small part to Emmanuel. The gaping hole on our right has become our biggest strength

I wouldn't go as far as to say the defence is miles better, there has been an improvement due to having a good right back as you point out. I think when Greaves plays he brings more calmness to the central pairing, he's much better on the ball than Jordy. But there is quite a difference between the Championship and Div 1 IMO.

Nevertheless, last season I just felt their confidence went out of the players after Turbo and Bowen left, but this hopefully short spell in Div 1 will help bring their confidence levels back.

Defence is miles better. Elder isn't a weakness just need to get a bit of cover when he's bombing on cos no-one can be in 2 places at once. And i want him to bomb on.

We haven't lost a game yet through oppos exploiting space behind wingbacks. Fleetwood was losing the midfield cos some ****er thought it was clever to take our ratter off for a forward when when we were losing every second ball in midfield, in the second half of one game.

Difference is confidence. Second half last season we lost confidence after a couple of chasings and the manager had no answer.

This season the manager and squad are at a level they know they can compete.

Going up is far from a given, and it'll be interesting to see if Grunt has the mettle to arrest a slide as its inevitable there'll be a tough spell at some point.

But at the moment, only a dire decision in the second half at Fleetwood is the only foot he's put wrong so far.

Let's see how he pans out this term and look at next season at whatever level, as it comes.

Do I think he can keep us up? Depends if he's learnt.

Can he take us up? 10% into the season suggests he just might.

It feels like we are playing 90 games a week.

Anyone know if the Swindon game is going to take place?
