Personally I think this case is futile on its own, but has Ashley actually launched his or was it all piss and wind?

 

In some ways, having the fan-led action might mean the PL (and those potentially implicated from the 'top 6') might underestimate it, like most of the national press has so far.

The fact that (despite it 'just' being fans):

1. the PL "have to' answer to the letter, or go to court
2. O'Donoghue is a top QC in this field
3. The case could cost millions

Might just catch them out compared with if Ashley had gone in all guns.

It would be funny if Liverpool and ManU owners simply dismiss it and then the PL turn round to them and say "No, we have to disclose EVERYTHING!". Would love to see the look on their faces.

Hopefully that's the case. That's what I'm saying. This is still legal action and involves a high profile QC. I hope they do underestimate the whole thing. If they do then they could get an unexpected kick in the balls.

 

If a top QC has advised this as a course of action I would guess the case won’t be futile.

 

I think they'll be happy to lose in court rather than let the Saudis in.. These people don't care about public opinion.. They're like drug dealers and know the punters will keep coming back
