Obviously some sneaking about going - another precedent set of how corrupt the top tables of football are and great evidence for the Court Case. Even more reason teams at the top don't want another big player involved - they'd miss out on their private club...

As the Mackems think they're a big fish in a small pond I'm assuming they'll be in it.

 

I personally can’t see it ever happening other than it replacing the current champions league format in some form.

I also don’t think fans want it either.

 

Agreed, I mean who'd want to be having to get flights every other week to get to away matches? Ok you have to for the CL but only 3 games before xmas and maybe another 4 after if you make a final which you'd travel for regardless. 10 away trips to Europe sounds lovely but expensive. Seen people suggest they'd just have home games as 100% capacity for home fans but then wheres the banter with other fans? half the enjoyment is waving a ****er sign at the opp fans after you've scored a goal.

 

I think it should go through but on the proviso they call it what it actually is.

Not a "Super League" or "European Premier League".

Something more like the "Corrupt Cartel Greedy B@st@rd League".

Then everyone else can leave them all to it.

 

they might do, but how many of them still will when, instead of winning their league, they find themselves in the bottom 3 every season and their derby game is 1000 miles away.

 

People would soon get tired of it and even now I don't watch the CL league till the later stages,if that and anyway I prefer to look at Lottie on the Bake Off

They'll still be in the premier league that's the worst part..

They'll remain in the league and the champions league will be replaced by this closed shop super league

So they get all the European money and the premier league money without fail and all the clubs chasing champions league money would be forced to settle for mid table and simply staying in the league...... The other clubs would not get any financial gain for finishing higher, so they won't bother trying.

It will end the competition in the premier league outside the 6 completely and that's the aim.

 

Yeah, they've really put a lot of thought into the fans for this proposed league. It's basically these greedy owners saying saying "F*** the fans, business is business!"

 

Man Utd would be ok,none of their fans live in Manchester!

 

Good point, I guess it's a slightly shorter flight to Germany / Italy (compared with Manchester), if you live in Singapore or Africa.

It's just a league to replace the champions league!

So nothing changes for the fans they still have the premier league ganes and European games, but instead of worrying about finishing top 4 it doesn't matter a **** because they're in the European league no matter where they finish...

For the other clubs it means they cannot get into the Europe and get the extra revenue, so they can't even try because they'll be throwing money away as there's no opportunity for additional revenue..

 

So the 5 teams who go in it (I personally think Spurs will miss out, unless they win the league this year.)

Will keep their poxy B teams in the prem to play games.

I can only imagine it working in a very specific arrangement as in a few seasons time the spectacle of it will just vanish and it will be boring.

 

The only way I can see it working at all is if it’s literally the elite I.e whoever wins the respective leagues play in a European league. Say 8 leagues title holders. That would equate to 14 games home and away.

 

The rest play in the Europa league which would have more meaning than it currently does.

Thus not affecting the domestic leagues. The top clubs would have enough resource and players to cope with the volume of games.

 

Celtic and Rangers wont be in it, they'd be rock bottom.

It’s just not feasible from a fan perspective though I don’t think. Unless like someone said it was just home fans at the games but that’s just boring.

I don’t think there is the appetite for it I really don’t.

 

For the umpteenth time it's no different to now for fans..... They're staying in the premier league, the champions league is being replaced. The fans already to away and home games in Europe.. They'd do slightly more that's all..

The idea is removing the chance of missing out on top 4 money.. They just get it every year and nobody else will bother competing
