I just hope and pray it happens soon and also results in a new 1st team manager/coach too. The pragmatic/dogmatic approach from Parkinson is awful. My boy won’t even watch the live streams now. His under 12 team play more expressive and attractive football than what’s currently on offer at SAFC. Parky’s keep it tight and try to nick a goal is costing us a generation of fans who won’t go back to games even when they’re finally allowed to.
I just hope we can all get back to just having a laugh and watching the football. If new owners coincided with supporters going back in the ground and, sorry to say it, a replacement manager we could put this all behind us. I said to my son yesterday that I can see there being nationwide civil disobedience around Christmas if the lockdown situation isn't resolved. It's slightly worse for us because we're going through a bad patch with the club, but things can change quickly.
just read that we have not been top of this league during our current 'stint'...90 games. can only happen to us mind, one defeat yet 7th place and already starting to look off the pace. parky happy with that game last night...one thing i do not like about him is his inability to look interested in his interviews, his eyes are looking everywhere but at the interviwer or camera, i am now convinced he 'watches' games the same way. 'like for like' subs tell me he did not try to win that game, he was happy with the draw...his plan nearly failed as scowen actually ran around with some purpose and energy (why can he not do that over 90?) i have tried to give dobson the benefit of the doubt and tried to defend him but even i cannot find a single positive aspect to his 'contribution' last night, ball passed to opponents time after time, chasing around like a headless chicken ending up on their 18 yard box and still no closer to the ball. yes i am pissed off but a little calmer after a kip, surely parky is SD's parting shot at us fans...'don't like me?..well take this ya norvern monkeys'
That's the tragedy mate. I, like many others, started going when we were second division and not doing too well. But there was an air of excitement and you felt like the players cared. You can't fool kids though can you.
It'll happen like an avalanche imo, people don't trust the government any more. You can only throw so many slogans at people before they completely lose it.
Not sure how much more of Parkinson’s dullness I can take anymore, every games seems to out shyte the previous one. It’s death by torture watching his set up and tactics, blokes is so far out of his depth he comes to work in a Submarine
I’ve been going to the games since 1990 and I know many have a lot longer than me. Even through the mick buxton or terry butcher era we had a few decent player: martin smith, don goodman, phil gray, john byrne etc players you enjoyed watching or could do something exciting. We literally don’t have 1 player i enjoy watching.
I agree with you in part, atm Maguire and Hume are the only two players I consider to be half decent. But if you are saying this is the worse team we have had, for me from early 60s, I completely concur!
This. 1974 for me. I know over the years we have all seen terrible individual performances and awful individual players but I think this is the first time that I’ve actually seen a team content to be where they are. And that’s what hurts. We would all give anything to be able to pull on the shirt and we would all give everything to win. This current crop bar maybe three or four wouldn’t. They’re all mercenaries. We’ve just swapped higher paid ones for lower paid ones.
And it's in their own best interests to remain in the third division... Some know they will never play higher
