Reading the article, I think that the Portsmouth fans take some beating. It appear that they want Jackett dismissed because of the style of football they have been playing which, given than the fans are currently prohibited from attending matches, seems somewhat illogical. The results have not been as they should yet this applies throughout the professional game. All logic with results seems to have gone out of the window. In the current situation, they would be much better off not doing anything too drastic. In their current circumstances, Jackett is a high profile manager and there seems to be a failure to recollect that PFC were a fan-operated club until relatively recently. It looks increasingly unlikely than promotion will be on the cards this season especially given the calibre of the clubs in that league, many of whom will not be in thrall of the Fratton Park residents. Fan pressure will eventually cost Jackett is job at some point in time but I think Saints fans need to be careful what they wish for. I would rather Jackett keep them in mid-table mediocrity than see them make a knee-jerk reaction and appoint someone like Eddie Howe who probably has the ability to replicate his success at Bournemouth further eastwards along the coast. I am not sure that Howe is cut out for another Premiership appointment and his inability to settle up north is likely to limit his options. If Jackett goes in the next 12 months , I could envisage Howe being really good fit for Portsmouth. I am not sure if Third Tier football would be what Howe is looking for but I think a local "sleeping giant" would be a challenge he would relish. I just wonder how much Howe's availability would be driving the fans to change horses? I get the impression that Pompey fans do not appreciate what they have got. Jackett is a safe pair of hands. They will not get relegated with him at the helm and the play-offs are potentially a regular possibility. In the current situation, Pompey should not be looking to rock the boat. They will eventually get promoted under Jackett if they have the patience and then can move on. Progress under Jackett is likely to be a slow process. The fickle nature of Pompey fans takes some beating. Jackett has got them in to two play-offs already when they have recently flirted with the bottom half of League Two in the not-so-distant future. I feel than they would still be on his case even if he got Portsmouth promoted.
Weird how everyone is going on about Manchester and South Yorkshire when Portsmouth has been in the third tier for years!
That is how things should work.... I overhit a pass down the left, where Jabbs managed to keep it in play and he smacked one that was aimed out to the right, but I’d made a strong run down the middle and intercepted it and finished it, whilst no.7 (who had drifted in from the right) liked it. like the three musketeers: “Four for one and nil for the other” Ps. No remarks about anyone being a former blue or us playing in red
If you had said "Alexa, Sha, na na, na na na na na" she would have replied "Who the **** is laughing now?", without checking any Googled sites
