<laugh><laugh> Look at the Labour gestapo in Wales, they can't even tell the difference between a period product and an essential, their government has got to be the pits.

    Even bleaker. <laugh>

In your living memory? Are you forgetting Blair's labour government, illegal war (including the kidnapping of UK citizens for torture at the hands of the USA), saddling the NHS with record debt + privatising a hospital that ended in failure and a million more kids in poverty, but hey at least along with his tory lite policies he did manage to make himself ultra mega rich and of course not forgetting praying with George W Bush and then converting to catholicism so as he could confess his huge amount of sins and still get into heaven, he was a prince of socialism.

I’ve now found out it wasn’t Chepstow Tesco’s but Cardiff. And it was robbed and the period products was by where is was cordoned off as a crime scene.

However there is still a load of confusion over here about essential and non essential products. To say it’s a shambles is an understatement. Like Jiffie said this banning supermarkets over what they can and cannot sell won’t help anyone.

And then along came Mr Happy (Gordon Brown) who sold off the gold bullion reserves. Or was that before he became PM ?

I'm pretty comfortable saying that any of the other governments between 1990 and 2010, Tory and Labour, would have done far better than this lot during the Covid crisis, yes.

Before he became PM, in fact it was one of the first things that he did, along with fanning the flames of the impending banking crash by dismantling the rules and protocols surrounding the banking industry.

When he became PM he just acted in a very sexist way towards his female MP's, oh yeah and called a life long female member of the labour party a bigot on live TV, in fact historically probably the beginning of labours abandonment of it's northern powerhouse working class, salt of the earth labour voters, something that Corbyn and Mcdonnell and their marxist metropolitan elite really bought into.

Still onwards and upwards, it's due to get a whole lot better, the ECHR report into institutional anti semitism (that labour have been incredibly quiet about since they received it in June) is due to be published publicly tomorrow, it never rains...................................................

So now we are only able to to print money, mountains of it as we no longer have assets because of him......I think it's the case that when in power, Labour spends (wastes it) while Tories go in to try and pick up all the pieces!!
Having said that, I think the whole lot of them aren't great, start off with good intentions but gets dragged down, much of it down to the poor media we have..

And yet on plenty of other communities online your opinions would be considered a joke too. It's only because I'm in the minority being (relatively, but not particularly) young. I'm confident all of them would have locked down when needed, and that alone would have beaten what this sh*te lot have done.

Of course, prior governments would have had the benefit of the pandemic committee to advise them to do so. Which Boris, with his incredible stupidity, decided to scrap 6 months before this all broke out.

Cost of Brown's gold blunder: ~£2bn

Cost of Brexit (so far): ~£130bn-£200bn (depending on estimates)
Cost of Covid (so far): £210bn

    No contest.

Agree. But you also forgot their own incompetence and cavalier attitudes towards the national treasury.

You can't really compare the scenarios Rob. Covid is costing every country in the world hideous sums of money that will take generations to repay, whether it's on extra hospitals, equipment, furlough schemes, eat out schemes, bailing out various industries etc etc etc
And the country voted yes for Brexit
But Brown knowingly sold the gold

And yet out of the major nations it's costing us by far the most.

The longer we keep pretending the Tories are the keepers of the pursestrings and that Labour spend us into recession, the longer this country will be held back. Both have been absolutely abysmal with managing our finances.

Thankfully looking at voting trends by age, the future is far brighter.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the total cost of UK military operations in Iraq from 2003 to 2009 was £8.4bn. Official calculations stated that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined cost £20.3 billion (up to but not beyond June 2010).'

Another total waste of money by Labour plus all of the lives, they should be arrested as war crimminals for their lies and actions (Blair &Co)

There is a common theme running through most of your posts.

Most of us cite facts and history, along with the facts and figures that you do quote, you seem to be endowed with a psychic gift as well.
