Class thread after a **** backshift....Reading that back has cheered me up no end Followed a familiar pattern of coming out of the woodwork when we go 1 down, berating the manager and his tactics, sarcastic remarks when we equalise, more sarcasm when we go ahead.....Then a disappearing act when we gather in another 3 points Absolutely priceless!!!!
I was thinking a couple had suddenly gone quiet once we went back Infront and didn't post again...funny that isn't it
Familiar pattern innit? Support City for 35 years and you get used to it though. And they wonder why no one wanted to buy us when we were a saleable asset....!?!?!!! Personally I don't care what league we're in. Had more fun on the way up than the way down anyway..... I don't like McCann, but ****ers after p'boro pissed me off about as much as 0- 8 vs Wigan.
I'm not a huge fan of McCann but he's going nowhere so we have little option and need to get behind him...And our players. Some of the cynical, bitter, twisted, diatribe and insult posted against him on here is nothing short of disgusting!!! Why don't they just **** off and support something or someone else if they can't accept that we are winning games?
Maybe because he has not done it in the past and left substations u til the 88 minute. Prove me wrong and quite N instance when Alec Ferguson substituted a player in the 88 th minute who changed the game
Certainly not the 88th minute but Solskjaer and Sheringham were both substitutes in the 1999 Champions League Final...
Shades of Arjan Robben who dived at every opportunity. The refs got wise to it and he got kicked and fouled at every opportunity with few fouls awarded. He became a better player
Younger players will always need to be rested at the right times, it's hard enough for the more experienced pro's that's why the squad is going to be so important this season.
Obviously an 88thinute sub is a morale management decision to benefit an individual when it's not really going to affect the current match but potentially the next one that player is called on. You're looking one dimensionally.
that's my point. Who made City fans joey Bigbollocks all of a sudden? We've overachieved and had it good for a while the same way we're underachieving now. That's not to say we're a bunch of ****s who think we have a right to walk the league or we aren't in the league we're in for a reason. We're limited. Yeah? If we weren't we wouldn't be here! We either get behind them or we don't and the overarching reason we are where we are is really about decisions take at a much higher level than recruitment, tactics or coaching.
Keano made a difference in 4 minutes tonight. Oh, and yeah, sir Alex did that and it worked out famously. Most of the time a late change is made as a wildcard, or just a means of squad management and a way of rewarding a player for training well, or just reminding that player he's in the managers thoughts. It's not necessarily to affect that particular game but future ones. Obviously if you're an amoeba with a singular perspective then you won't understand that. All managers do it from time to time and it's a cheap criticism. If it was a change intended to influence a game, then it would be made before. And Alex would probably admit to that. A change with more than half hour left was tactical, not just getting lucky with 2 mins to go.
Cos frankly, scepticism over mccann is justified. Only foot he's put wrong this season so far is taking Batty off against Fleetwood for a forward when he should have put another midfield ratter on to help him out
Had a read through tonight from during the game which I don't normally do and there's a clear few posters who just love the negativity. Oddly enough, they tend not to post as our goals went in. It's a shame that people are so desperate to see us and Grant fail, it's really not something I understand. Anyway, today was a bit meh. I actually didn't think they were a bad side, I seem to remember them being amongst the top 6 favourites before a ball was kicked. First half, they pressed well and forced us to make mistakes. Hanlan looks useful, certainly got something about him although we kept him pretty quiet. The less said about their goal the better, Magennis messed up and was caught on the ball, annoying and not something I'd expect from him in our box. Reminded me of Honeyman's mistake at Fleetwood in some ways, just a bit unnecessary. Magennis struggled today, he's looked knackered for the last few games now, I was pretty shocked he started with Eaves back. Adelakun didn't show up either, and that's a few on the trot he hasn't performed and starts to be a little concern. Today, minus conceding, felt pretty similar to all the wins. The opposition didn't do much, my stream dropped for their chance right before half time, but apart from that and the goal, I don't believe they had another shot. Defensively we are pretty good even with Jordy in there. Although after having Greaves in defence for the last couple, Jordy looked incredibly raw and uncomposed in comparison. Jacob's just so classy but he can't switch off in the future. Attacking wise, we did okay, it's probably the most clinical we've been in a while but we didn't create as much as in previous outings. Strange thing to say after scoring 3 away mind. Eaves did well, he's never going to be the kindest on the eye but he's useful at this level and will score/create goals. Him and Magennis are two very good lads to have up there. KLP scored again, he's very good, although apart from scoring I thought he was pretty quiet in his cameo. It's another win and a good chance now we don't play until the FA Cup game with Swindon having positive tests and their game being off today, and the Accrington game already off too. It's been an outstanding start the to season, over the coming games we need to keep winning and start creating a gap between us and third. I'm still not certain that all 46 games will be played this season, so it's more important than ever to get as many points on the board as early as possible.
As usual, I didn't see the evening game, but delighted to see we got the win. Credit where credit is due, Terry making the 3 subs changed the game, so well done him. 3 good goals having seen the replays, KLP took his well as did Regan Slater. Eaves looked sharp with an assist and a well-poached goal at the end, hopefully, we will see more from him going forward. Up to 2nd, I guess there must be doubt about Saturday's game now, after next Tuesday's game already called off?
It’s still poor with largely the same mistakes being made defensively. Given our assistant manager was a defender, I find this amusing. Nice to see a win bringing out more complete and utter bollocks from the happy clapping brigade. Hilariously funny.
I don’t expect no mistakes. I expect the mistakes we make continuously to at least look like they are being worked on. Which they don’t.
