He looks rattled. I think he knows the pressure he is getting from the fans. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a nice bloke etc, but not cut out to be a football manager.
same bloke who breaks up maguire/onien partnership, throws gooch into various positions, alters what had been a decent defensive formation, then tries to throw everyone back to last years formation that did not work at the time. i have been a bit critical of some players but to be honest i think some are just no longer sure of their actual role or who is meant to be working alongside them
Yep...apparently our passing was good.... which game was he watching. I mentioned during the match ( Collins saying the same) I dreaded to think what the pass completion rate was. Last 10-15 mins is the only period we came alive !
Haven’t watched it but.... WHAT????? Passing was awful by 9 of the players for the entire game!! Would love to see the successful passing stats
Passing Accuracy 301 of 405 — 74% Rochdale Sunderland 77% — 356 of 465 https://fbref.com/en/matches/1c25166b/Rochdale-Sunderland-October-27-2020-League-One
Dear Dobbo had a game to forget... Power was not much better, although he nearly won it when he hit the crossbar near the end, when we finally found some urgency and purpose. Is there anywhere where we can find the stats of the game, I know the BBC Sport has a couple..
It's making me feel sick, reliving the game reading back all these comments. Slack as **** defending Being outplayed in the first half Took the lead twice and tossed it away Dobson's performance **** team selection Subs 20 minutes too late
So the prolific Charlie Wyke plays as a lone striker and Graham, Grigg and O'Brien sit on the bench. Wyke is subbed at 75th minute. Now I thought the received wisdom with 4 strikers was to play 2 up front so that they work together. If you are only going to play one up front, why have 4 strikers you only need 3, and the extra squad player could be another player. Also wtf in having the other 3 strikers on the bench. Truly Jurassic has some odd ideas.
Right then, I'll start...... On the **** days of Parkinson, my club gave to me......... ......a subs bench that he cant seeeee!
These stats don’t tell the full story as these will include a high proportion of sideward and backward passes , Dobson and Power were guilty of wayward passing going forward , it would be interesting to see what the individual player stats were . PP praising Dobson would be laughable if it was not to serious , I would suggest he watches back the match with a group of fans - socially distanced of course , and explain to them what he saw compared to the supporters as most people appear to disagree with him - I know I certainly do !
Thanks for that, yes from what I saw Dobson's passing was awful. We tried a lot of diagonal long passes, not many came off. Teams have sussed that if they stop Hume and Maguire... by and large they stop Sunderland.
Parkinson needs to hand him clothes to free him.... (Harry Potter reference for those who don’t know!!)
