Let me get this right.......you go to the stadium and have lunch while watching a game that is happening live a few yards away on the telly? Income generation!
This loonacy is the government's not QPR's. Absolutely bonkers! Here in Sweden they are looking at having 300 spectaters at games. They will certainly be distanced in the national arena (where AIK play) that holds 55k.
I would love to come and have lunch with a few of you (no politics) drink some nice wine and watch the Rangers but I think it sounds a bit pointless?
Apart from the fact you can get pissed up with a few pals (no more than six though) this seems like a desperate ploy by club to reap.in some cash - I'd expect that this is going on at all clubs as a way around the rules. Anybody been in the C Club? Can you see the pitch from there? There must be some hospitality suite that the pitch us visible from that would work as a workaround for the club instead of showing it on a screen - hope they're not using QPR + to stream it
As a one-off with the right opponents I suppose just under £70 for the meal, drinks and being there albeit just looking at the screen is reasonable. How many on here would be up for it?...
If I still lived in London I would be up for it, but watching the tv when the pitch is only 20 metres away would do my loaf in.
Not good timing for me as I'm probably having a Colonoscopy on Monday (they're confirming tomorrow). If they do it for another game, I'd be up for it. Wouldn't it be breaking the damned Covid rules for a group of us to go, though?
Surely safer Covid wise for the same number of people who come to such an event, to be outside in the fresh ? air, under cover watching the game. I understand there is an increased risk with large crowds using public transport to get to games, but surely limited numbers who would be separated at a game and using own transport + or walking to a game, doesn't give Covid risk. Greatest risk would be getting in and out of stadium, but I think with small crowds this can be managed, as has been done here in Norway and in Sweden as Total has posted.
I was reading non-league teams that met in a League Match were allowed 600 in but for a FA Cup match against another team from the same division the FA rules were 0 crowd. There was also one of two teams in different divisions ground sharing, the lower division team were allowed 300 in but the higher division team were 0 crowd. They do seem to come up with some totally baffling decisions...
Normally I would be up for this like a shot but after watching the red button the other day and not being able to see the players (as the camera was so far away) It would annoy me that we may only be 50 feet away from the action but it looks miles away.
I've been in the C Club mate, you can't see the pitch from there as it's the other side of the concourse from the main stand. It looks out on to South Africa Road. As far as I understand it, you can't watch from the hospitality boxes because it's a bit like the no drinking in view of the pitch law. It seems like they're disproportionately punishing football fans for whatever reason. I saw a video someone posted at Legoland yesterday. The place was packed.
Good luck on Monday Stroller. Hubbie has had it 3 times ...once after a test...and then at 2 year intervals after. Not pleasant, but all clear. Fingers crossed yours is too
For me meeting up with some of the posters on here before and after the game was the enjoyment... especially if we played like we did recently.
Re rules Just say you're going for an eye test? We only need a castle and it's sorted. On a serious note good luck on Monday.
It may not seem like it but it's better than the other end, I had a Gastroscopy about 20 years ago and it was horrific, the worst experience of my life especially when it was moving around in my stomach. Hope all goes well for Stroller...
Good luck on Monday mate. It would break the rules. You can only attend and stay with the people you nominated in your bubble with the club a few weeks ago.
