A comfortable win in Europe despite 8 changes is a good way to recover from a poor result.
We need stop dropping silly points in the league though, so a trip to Burnley isn't ideal.
They're not in good form themselves, but they're always well drilled, work hard and keep going to the end.
Sean Dyche is in desperate need for a win and he's had a week to prepare for this one.
Can Mourinho maintain our impressive away form or will his ginger counterpart spoil things?

Burnley had another decent season last time, despite a rather rough patch from October to mid-January.
Their limited budget showed again, as they only really spent on Jay Rodriguez, who scored 11 goals for them.
They finished the campaign well, only losing two of the last 16 games, which dragged them into the top half.
Only a final day loss to Brighton prevented them from finishing above Sheffield United and Arsenal.
10th place is still very presentable for them though, given their financial constraints.

They've been even more limited on funds this time out, only signing youth players, for the most part.
A backup keeper from Wolves and Dale Stephens from Brighton for £1m were the only exceptions.
They largely kept what they had, but that can often lead to stagnation and that might be the case here.
Their 0-0 draw with West Brom last time out was their first point, though they scored in their other games.
This will be their fifth league game, so questions are being asked of the manager and board.

A depleted, strikerless side took the trip to Turf Moor in March and it showed.
They took the lead through Chris Wood, though replays suggested that there was a handball in the buildup.
Ben Mee fouled Erik Lamela in the box early in the second half to give us a chance to get back into it.
Dele Alli made no mistake from the spot, as Harry Kane was missing due to injury.
Lo Celso and Vydra both had chances to win it, but the score remained 1-1:

The home match was a very different beast, as we blew the visitors away in style.
Kane and Moura put us 2-0 up in the first ten minutes, before Son scored the goal of the season to make it 3.
It stayed that way til half-time, despite a number of good chances, including Sissoko hitting the post.
Kane made it 4-0 shortly after the break and Sissoko made up for his earlier miss by making it 5-0.
One of our better performances and one that was replayed a lot on TV, too:

Tanganga is still out for this one, but Dier may return.
Cork, Mee and Lowton are out for the hosts, while Peacock-Farrell and Pieters face tests.
Neither side has any suspensions.

Never an easy place to go and I hate playing teams who haven't won a match as we frequently seem to be the opponents who oblige them.

We should have more than enough quality to win the match, but if we give the usual number of cheap freekicks away, and defend set pieces as poorly as we have this season then the likes of Wood, Tarkowski and Mee will once again cause us problems, Dyche will know we have a soft centre and will play accordingly.

I like DH team, but expect Jose will select - Lloris, Dohertty, Alderweireld, Dier, Regullion, Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele, Son, Kane and Lucas.

 

Great, Michael Oliverpool, after Mourinho called him out last season, I am expecting fack all decisions off him.

 

I won't be playing.
Expect them to play over their midfield. It's the tactic that WH used second half. From defence straight into the front two of Wood and Barnes.
What do we do to counter? If we had CBs , I would play 3 at the back but we haven't got the quality, so we just need to make sure we are clinical up front.

 

You're probably right with that team, it'll be harsh on Davies though, he put in a good captain's performance the other night and as I've said before he's the only the defender I trust from a defensive standpoint. I'd have him in the team over any of the three usual CBs without hesitation.

 

Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Utd all dropped points this weekend...

We need to play our strongest team as we can not afford to lose this but can afford to lose in Europe on Thursday.

So Davies needs to play as a central defender with Alderweireld.

No Dele in the squad, to be honest who would you have on the bench Lo Celso or Dele ?

 

You wouldn't be a Tottenham fan if you want into any game without a worry of some sort

I’m not sure any of the three donkeys at CB constitute to our strongest XI nowadays. Dier’s probably made the least mistakes of the three and even he’s a sandwich short of a picnic these days.

Would much rather we give Tanganga or Rodon a chance. Honestly don’t see how they can be worse and at least with them the idea is that they can get better with time. Rodon’s like 6’4 too, probably most ideal from a physical standpoint to counter Burnley’s route one approach.

 

Yeah it’s a no-brainer.

We’ve not missed him either, 31 goals this season already shows that. Kane becoming our best number ten along with being our best number nine has probably made it that bit worse for Dele.

If only Jose could give Winks the same treatment .

Ally Gold just pointed out how it was this fixture last season where Ndombele got the public bollocking by Jose. Here’s hoping Tanguy 2.0 has a better outcome this time around, started the season really well.
