So people that travel to MY OWN COUNTRY should only receive free NHS treatment if they have paid in through our income tax system ?

But I agree , the NHS free health care should only be for UK residents .

If you are a visitor , you should need insurance to pay ...as I would it I went to Spain for instance .

 

Before the thick racist spanners voted to “Take Our Country Back”, you wouldn’t have needed a private insurance policy to use the excellent Spanish healthcare system; we had a reciprocal arrangement which doubtless thousands of expat Brits took advantage of.

You do need insurance. Only EU peeps were given 'free' healthcare, we could charge the costs back to the EU state of origin of the patient but we never bothered.

If you're talking of refusing to give urgent medical assistance to someone in this country that's not a UK citizen then that's completely ****ed.

 

Lots of people from **** hole countries come here knowing the UK tax payer will stump up the bill for costly operations, sometimes tens or hundreds or thousands of pounds.

We have zero chance of getting that money back .


I have an EHIC card that I have never used but always take travel insurance which costs less than £100 a year and can be used in most countries.

If I break my leg skiing in America I'm not covered and it will be expensive.
