Enough now folks, time to wrap it up. Back to the serious topic of why this thread was started: wholemeals for kids. They knead our dough and I’m hoping they’ll be able to baguette all rather than any going to PPV.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....s/liverpool-pay-per-view-boycott-19161968.amp Ahem. Come on you lot. Let’s be having you
That may be true. I have no evidence. But I do know that scousers are a soft touch for a good cause. It also has to be said that they’re drawing on a much larger number of people. LFC are in the process of upgrading their database on season ticket holders and their waiting list. I’m told by someone itk that their waiting list is currently standing at more than some team’s capacities! So there is significantly greater interest in the club than there is in Southampton. Don’t get me wrong. It doesn’t detract from what we’re doing, but clearly it would help if the press responded like Liverpool Echo and if we had a Jamie Carragher equivalent banging the drum.
If we ended up less than £1,000 on our little effort, that’s ok. It’s the doing it that matters and giving a chance to those we share this with the method to help if they can and want to. This is our way of helping and saying we’d rather give £15 to those who need it than the big TV clubs or clubs. Kudos all round, whether it be 6,000 Liverpool fans, 1,600 Toon fans or 60 Saints forum fans.
Yeah I agree that it's not about the amount and you'd expect ours to be smaller than Liverpool and Newcastle's anyway. Think it could still increase a fair bit if we can get it in the Echo etc. I'm in a WhatsApp group and not had it mentioned yet so it hasn't spread too far yet. I'll know it's getting somewhere publicity wise when I see it come back on there, if not I'll mention it Thursday/Friday. Those on social media need to spam it like **** on the clubs official account's next week too.
I totally agree, FLT. I’m sorry if it came across as a wind up. I am immensely proud to be associated with the actiońs of those who have contributed in fact, being a football fan feels pretty good, as Juergen Klopp has said
£922 now, nearly at the first target with a week to go! There will be more publicity in the next few days I’m sure, so hopefully we will smash this.
no, no, I didn’t interpret it as anything other than factual or in anyway a wind up. There is a small part of the Saints fan in me that giggles at the comparison in numbers
I share that feeling. Surrounded by friends and family who support LFC I’m used to being treated like the poor relation. I’m always disproportionately pleased when my little club does something good. Of course all of those friends and family will be Saints fans today!
