The loss of Eze has never been so apparant. He was always going to leave and unfortunately that's the way it always will be. Anyone who shines will be snapped up. Short of spawning a play off place (unimaginable at this time) then our team will continue to battle just to stay in this league. Lose our best players every season, replace them and try stay up and and repeat and repeat.
Correction needed ... It's now one shot on target in five halves of football. We're only five points off of the play-off places though.
Birthday today so only home in time to watch the last 20 mins. I suppose I should be grateful for a birthday point but so lack lustre?! Anyone (me included)who thought Chair would be stepping into Eze's shoes looksto be sadly disappointed! Onwards and samewards.
Thanks. Good walk in Langley Park socially distanced from grandchildren before the rain came. Curry from Peter Crouch's curry house to round off the day.
Happy Birthday mate. Yes, sadly Chair isn't another Eze. I fear some fans have only just realised what we had with Eze now he's gone. I rate Chair though, but I reckon he'd do better with a different coach who can play to his strengths. I didn't see the game, but apparently Chair was virtually playing up with Dykes and Bonne. Clearly not how he should be used.
Happy Birthday! You got lucky on your big day if you saw only the best part of the game, which probably was the last 20 minutes.
Happy Birthday RTID, hope you are continuing with the birthday celebrations with an extra long life in. You are right, you got the best of the match in the last 20 minutes.
I am now going to be hugely positive.. We haven't conceded from a corner in at least 3 matches. Getting there!
Young Dieng (nearly 26) looks very assured with crosses compared to Lummers and Kelly. Kakay is a huge improvement on Kane and Rangel of seasons gone by. Dickie can actually defend a bit. I’m struggling a bit now but it’s not all bad. I really think we are one competent central midfielder from being a decent side.
Many happy (late) returns RTID. It’s a weekend, so I hope you will be continuing with the celebrations (and enjoy the long life in ...)
Have been underwhelmed so far this season - start with a negative and try to build ... we seem to unable to link defence to attack and provide a decent service to our attackers. We seem to have a plethora of strikers now with a reasonable pedigree who have a history of being able to put the ball in the net. I admit to always being sceptical that Chair was the ideal replacement for Eze. Easy to say after the event, but I do wish we had made an effort to get Mowatt from Barnsley for a bit of central bite and drive and captaincy from the middle (with a view to winning). I wanted a tighter unit at the back and we seem to at least be improving there, still with some tweaks needed for sure. But the leaky holes seem to have been stemmed. So that’s a positive. There are teams worse than us in this division.
Today was the first time I've actually looked at the league table, which surprised myself considerably. I think my interest in this season is slowly dwindling already. It's just another year of supporting QPR with little to no joy involved. Last season was a bit of a rollercoaster and despite certain results, we were near enough guaranteed an exciting, action packed goal fest. Now we would just appreciate an effort on target. Everytime I look at the team sheet I just see a complete lack of balance. No fluidity between defence - midfield - attack. A team that doesnt really seem that bothered bar one or two. A manager who talks fantastically well yet cant seem to put those words into practise. Yes, I truly think I'm bored ****less of this season already! My 15 year old wasnt bothered about watching it yesterday. ' why pay a tenner to watch that crap' were his exact words. We came home from our local game to find out it was, intact £10 well saved.
