Our build up is so slow they can just mosey back to their defensive positions. We really are 5hit to watch.
Utterly pathetic - 1 shot on target in 2 home games The club ought to be refunding anyone who has actually paid to watch this crap
Pretty sure Warburton will highlight the clean sheet. Can't imagine what else he can see as positive.
Missed the game through choice and went to watch an old team I used to coach. Plenty of shots on target and 6 goals!
Sold our best player Eze, and lost other important players. Spent a bit less than half of the Eze money on new players. Made some needed money I guess so good in that sense, but so far the team looks weaker than last season to me. We may need to spend more in January if we can. Think we need a Luongo at his best type of player, and another Freeman. At the least....
Agree, I said it before... if you keep getting rid of your best talent you will only go backwards. Some were saying that others would 'step up' but once again they haven't and won't. I missed the game and can't comment on individual players. However this league is poor and to have 1 shot on goal in 4 halves is a joke. Plenty of teams in this division have smaller budgets and manage a lot more than us. The league will be over for us in a month.
And where exactly do you expect us to be...... Somewhere between 16th and 10th is where I'd expect us to finish this season.....
At best. Last season, Eze created and scored goals, whilst linking the play. We have no one that can do any of that. We are going to struggle.
We finished slightly stronger but never looked like scoring. Only positive I can see is that we actually have a goalkeeper now.
Plus we had Naki and Hugill....thats 45 or so goals and assists out of the side.....very hard to replace...
We still have new players bedding in and gelling. I did not see game as I have been out (well waiting for the AA to tow me home), but the games against Birmingham have always been fairly close in recent seasons. Uncle Albert started, both our new strikers started....maybe we missed Amos (probably one of those players that stops the opposition from playing) . Our keeper now has 3 clean sheets and in the last 4 games only two penalties have beaten him. Lets looks at the positives (even if there are not that many) but we play saturday, mid week, saturday midweek for a while. I see it as point gained and clean sheet (even if there is nothing else to celebrate), and hopefully a cheap repair on clutch.
It pains me to say it but it was an awful performance from Chair who offered nothing in a game that was crying out for some flair in midfield. Having said that, we just weren't set up to trouble a five man back line with virtually no running in behind that I could see and Dykes winning very little in the air. Surely the manager can see that rolling the ball along the back line for so much of the game is going to win you nothing but good possession stats?
I really don’t think it’s just the players. It’s the training, the tactics, the playing from the back, the propensity to pass sideways or backwards. Just adds up to a negative type of play that’s a grim spectacle.
Positives... Dieng was very commanding and made one outstanding save. Niko didn't really do anything wrong after coming on...he has to get up to speed Adomeh had a few bright moments. It took a great header off the line and an excellent save ... otherwise we would have won Negatives. No spark from midfield. Chair may be a good player but he is no where as strong as Eze and so keeps losing the ball. Chair took two shots that were so off the mark it was embarrassing There is no creation in midfield and so the forwards are bereft of good service...and are left stranded. I think Chair needs a rest. Cameron makes too many mistakes. He is a liability The subs made us better. We need to start with Willock... And Thomas too will improve us... possibly playing with Carroll. Where was he today? If we can keep getting clean sheets..the win will come..
