    Match Preview;
Both QPR and Birmingham suffered loses midweek, with our losing against Preston on Wednesday night and Birmingham losing against Norwich, 1-0, on Tuesday night. This leaves both sides on six points...both teams having lost three and drawn two of their last five games...Birmingham now having lost three in a row. Birmingham held on against Norwich until they went down to ten men after eighty-six minutes, and then conceded a minute later. It is also worth noting, they have only three goals this year in six games (Bela with two goals and defender, Dean with one goal), so surely we should be aiming for a clean sheet.

We will have to adapt our starting eleven in the absence of Luke Amos, who is out for the rest of the season with cruciate ligament damage. I am sure Tom Carroll is hoping to have Amos' spot in the starting eleven, but personally, particularly after watching the ball being passed back and forth endlessly last night, I'd like to see Amos replaced with a more attacking option. Thinking back to QPR teams of old, and I know this is obvious, we have benefited hugely from having players who can pick out a pass that cuts through opposition defenses. So far this year I have sat and watched far too much passing back and forth across the field, which gives defenses all the time in the world to get organised, and doesn't get the ball any closer to the goal. I'd love to see a more attacking starting eleven, with BOS, Chair, Willock and Dykes (or any other combination) given the freedom to be creative in trying to break defenses down, whilst also knowing Ball and another player, maybe Carroll, are sitting back as cover in case the attack breaks down. I'm sure that is far too simplistic, but I am just desperate to watch a game where we are a bit more creative and not so frustrating to watch!

I'll add team news when it goes on the official, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

I thought for 20 minutes or so last night before they got their first penalty, Carroll and Chair were sending some of the good cutting passes you and I want to see into their penalty area. We failed to make anything of them, and these 2 and too many others seemed to give it up after going a goal down. Warburton needs to find some players with balls, many of those that played last night should be dropped or moved into another position imo, probably all 4 that played the attacking roles. Hope Dykes is back to replace Bonne, and Albert and Willock start along with the most likely youngster, with a huge desire to play, Kelman, Mampala or whoever to help the striker up front. Perhaps Bonne deserves a crack as 2nd striker, he doesn't look like one to play alone up front.Thomas is still out I gather, though recoveries and new injuries seem like state secrets under MW.

I imagine Niko will come in for Wallace, and I hope Carroll or Bettache replace Ball, to play alongside Cameron, and link defense and attack. We should really get at at Birmingham.

Yeah, forgot that we were decent enough until their penalty.

I’ll try and remember that we are playing this, in the hope that it somehow impacts on the result.

    Cheers Dave, as always.

Thanks for your efforts with the Match Day threads, Dave.

Forgive me, but I was struck by how few 'played for both' and decided I could certainly name a few more off the top of my head.

I've come up with these (not all off the top of my head)...

    Mark Dennis
    Barry Bridges
    Dennis Bailey
    David Seaman
    Mike Kelly
    Don Givens
    Paul Peschisolido
    DJ Campbell
    Dave Mangnall
    Rowan Vine
    Andros Townsend
    Grant Hall.

Please don't think you have to amend the OP.

Rowan Vine. Another in the long litany of players who promised much and delivered so much less.

Yeah, I didn't have long today to look many up/try to remember, but that is quite a list. I'll have to get my thinking cap into gear for the next game.

Hamalainen has signed a four year extension. He is going to be our left back/wingback in this game (?)

    Mmm.....

Hopefully they were waiting for him to sign before playing him, like Dieng.

    I'm not holding my breath.

Here's hoping - otherwise what was the point?. If he can't get into the side now when Wallace failed so badly you have to believe there was some other reason for such a long deal..

I expect MW to change a few things, today.
    Hopefully, Dykes is back.
Hamalainen gets his chance, with the other three remaining the same.
Three defensive CM players is just not logical at home. Either Willock or Uncle Albert start (or even both). Camaron probably needs a rest.
Bonne drops to the bench or we play two up top.
In my book, at least four changes is a must to really point out that Wednesday's game was not acceptable.

I think everyone would benefit from Wallace sitting this one out.
