Just got home from the pub and catching up on the chat and this didn’t end well but I’m sure you’re glad ristac
Top comment on the Guardian; "3-0 up, 30 seconds left on the clock, and 7 players tearing forward in search of a 4th as if their lives depended on it. Motivational speaking by Marcelo Alberto Bielsa must be quite something." I'd also like to thank Agbonglahor in that respect....I imagine you're twitter must be rather busy tonight ? Can we book you up for another chat in mid February ?
Agreed with most but Bamford an 8 is silly, his finishing was exceptional in that game. Don’t hate, he’s a Leeds legend, anything this season is a bonus!
Just got through all that after being at the pub with my old man. A lot less stressful reading after the game Had a great night at the pub and still celebrating, I think I will be celebrating into the weekend because why not. Cheers! Good Night All, I’ll give my verdict and review on the game tomorrow or Sunday with player ratings but my god Klich has to be one of my favourite ever Leeds players, Bamford and that Raphinha pass... Good times are coming!
I might be a little drunk but who are we going to play when we’re full strength? This is madness but I’m happy to go along for the ride! Come on boys!
Very disappointed in Smith's comments, according to the BBC he could scarcely muster a whine: "Aston Villa boss Dean Smith, speaking to Match of the Day: "Very frustrated, especially with the last 40 minutes. I thought the first half was very even. They scored the first goal and we got worse and they were very good. We probably got away with a 3-0 in the end with the chances they had. "Who knows what would have happened if we had scored? That is the first time we have been behind in a game and we didn't handle it very well." "
Mind you, this guy is class. Note particularly what he says about Bamford : "Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, speaking to Match of the Day: "It was an important game for us and a deserved triumph. We scored first and were a little bit lucky they didn't score some of the chances they had. We were playing well even before the goal and had played well enough to go ahead." On striker Patrick Bamford, Bielsa added: "Very happy for Patrick because he scored some wonderful goals. Apart from that [he is] a noble player who sacrifices a lot for the team - generous also. I think his development is more to do with him and less to do with me." "
I think I've watched various highlights about 20 times now. This from the BBC again on Bamford: Bamford matches Cantona - the best stats This was Aston Villa's first defeat in nine Premier League matches (six wins) and also the first time they had fallen behind at any stage in any of those nine matches. This was the biggest win by a newly promoted side in an away Premier League match since October 2019, when Aston Villa won 5-1 at Norwich, and the biggest by a promoted club away from home while also keeping a clean sheet since Brighton won 3-0 at West Ham in October 2017. Bamford has scored six goals in Leeds' first six league matches this season - only Eric Cantona in 1992-93 (also six) has scored as many goals for the club at this stage of a Premier League campaign. The Englishman is only the second player to score in Leeds United's first three away games in a top-flight league season, after Gordon Hodgson in 1937-38. Bamford is the ninth Leeds player to score a Premier League hat-trick and the first since Mark Viduka away at Charlton in April 2003.
