The fact that Klopp brought Williams on in the last few minutes is telling. In short, it tells me that Klopp thinks that there’s a good chance that we will need him in the next couple of months.....I’m all for giving the kids a chance but we should never be in this position tbh.....ho hum....

He's not even next choice either. Billy Koumetio is next in line

Klopp often brings a CB on for the final moments to see out games, happened regularly with Lovren.

Lovren was ok, in a solid back four, with a protective midfield with trenches, barbed wire and machine guns.

You might be right but I didn't read too much into that tbh. Ajax overloaded their forward line at the end so it made sense to have an extra body to combat that.

It does feel like we've made the same mistake that City made last year. Fabinho was immense tbf and it was good to see that we can get results with the defence playing differently to the norm, but whether yesterday's tactics can work consistently remains to be seen.

If you mean Fer playing at the back for City, he was 34 last season, I think that's relevant

Fabinho is great when we're under the cosh, but he isn't all that quick and so if we're playing a high line he could get caught out. We may have to re-organise and play a little deeper, but then that could give away a certain amount of control in the midfield and could be counter-productive.
It'll be interesting to see how we go about this.
I favour the all out attack and sod the defence strategy personally. :)

We absolutely have to stop crosses with no VvD. We will need to play deeper for this....and/or cover more effectively for TAA and Robbo - we cannot have it both ways as the risk will outweigh the potential reward.
