    Gotta say, Cherries looking good.

A few decent little patches/moves from us but final ball not quite happening yet.

    Bagan doing well.

Glatzel seems to be competing better than usual.

    Uphill task though.

Happy with that and Humpty Dumpty didn't do anything badly against us either.

4 points in prediction league for me. Happy days.

My son thought he’d given them a penalty in injury time <doh>

Plusses for me - Bagan was excellent going forward (Hoilett switched off for their goal) Smithies again and Wilson being in the right place for a pass to score.

Negatives were again inability to squeeze the opposition midfield and struggle against their right wing back and as usual sluggish CM with Vaulks so poor on the ball.

Take a point and let’s see if we can break down Warnock’s mob next up- sure will be a different game as Bournemouth are a decent footballing side.

Wonder what style Colin's team will play? Moore certain to start although Glatzel didn't do badly tonight against a side who try to play the ball on the ground.

I thought the front 3 all pressed well tonight and won quite a few turnovers.

When Masky was top dog or runaway leader on a few occasions, BFB would have got five points for that..must be Covid related! :emoticon-0103-cool:

    Back to the game.

In the end a well earned point against a very good outfit who should be there at the death come May. They're slick one touch instinctive passers of the ball as opposed to our guys who always seem to have to think about it first. Vaulks and Pack looked very pedestrian when the ball came their way and slowed things down too much. It was left to Wilson to move it quickly and a few others need to get on the same wavelength.

Having said that, get the feeling that Bourneouth are good now as they can get, whereas we've got someway to go. I say that as a positive and not something we should be frightened of.

Wilson is a massive bonus in the side and a major factor toward changing our play tactically. Getting the ball wide and trying to find Moore in the box is fine, but we can play through the middle as well as Wilson started to promote last night. Glatzel benefited from the ball on the ground and showed some real conviction making runs and bringing others into play.

The introduction of the subs made very little to no difference to the game. Ralls for Pack was a decent shout, but unless they were tired, I'd have left Glatzel and Ojo on the pitch. I can understand the notion that it needed "freshening up", but Moore and Murphy were ineffective as replacements.

The start will have given Bagan a huge boost - he played very well and should be retained for the Boro game. For me I'd keep the same starting 11 with the exception of Ralls for Vaulks unless Harris feels the way to beat Boro is to out muscle Warnock's side - that could be a mistake.

Seen their goal again. It was a cute ball out wide which caught Hoilett napping but what was Morrison doing? No wonder Smithies went ballistic.
As for Saturday it’ll be a completely different game versus Warnockball. I’d like to see Harris play his best and quickest footballing side and go for them from the off.

I presume Tomlin is still out therefore id keep Wilson as 10. So either Ojo keeps his place or Murphy gets his chance. Dont mind either way. Bennett and Osei come in if fit. This allows then our best 2 central midfielders to play Ralls and Bacuna. If Bacuna had to play right back then id play Pack ahead of Vaulks.

Moore returning is a complete no brainer. Has to start.

Ojo has to start. He is improving game on game after a less than satisfactory beginning. Murphy seems to have gone off completely. I know he had only 10 minutes or so last night but did nothing to impress and didn't appear eager either.

It appears Tomlin wasn't fit last night but I've seen nothing from the club on him. Wilson to start Saturday and if we have Tomlin as a fresh option off the bench so much the better.

Agreed Desmond and Bennett to start if fit but if Joe is still out I would have no problem in Bagan playing again - even though wiley old Colin will look to target him. Bournemouth started to do that last night but didn't bother second half as they were getting nowhere.

Moore will probably get the nod but he didn't contribute much when he came on. Glatzel has more mobility and pace whereas Moore is a greater physical presence assuming Harris will want to could term Colin's usual tactics.

Got to get our first home win Saturday.

Would be good to get the monkey off our back at home.
Sounds like some positive comments on a few players.
Bagan sounds like he could make the step up.
Some positive comments on Bobby G as well. Good to have two strikers that offer different things.
Just need a couple partnerships to be struck up, especially where Wilson is concerned.
If Wilson can pull the strings at 10 or out left with Tomlin at 10, linking up with Ojo and Moore / Glatzel, we should get some go forward.
Just need to 4 at the back to stand solid and the engine room to bust a gut.
As Sparkey said elsewhere, potential for improvement which should put us in the mix.

Glatzel was by no means terrible last night but provided no real threat.

He doesnt offer anything different at all.

Moore is far better with the ball at his feet and is a much better footballer full stop and im not even convinced Glatzel is any quicker. Neither have real pace and neither are slow.

Moore though did not get into the game at all last night and neither did Murphy.

I thought hed given a penalty in injury time as well.

I was looking forward to Smithies saving it.

Hes seriously good. If Pickford is no.1 for England Smithies wouldnt let England down. If we were in the PL hed be knocking on the door for a cap.

Whilst Etheridge was good, Smithies is far better. Etheridge was solid enough but Smithies has a greater range of abilities.

From what I can remember of his time with us, he's never let us down and made some remarkable reflex saves.

Agree an England cap may well be deserved with or without Pickford in the frame, but he's probably playing for the wrong club.
