It will be as predictable as always. I'm beginning to think Warburton is just a talker. Says the right things and sounds good but cant really put his ideas into practise. We have an awful habit of stopping our own attacks to pass backwards, letting the opposition get back into shape. We also need to stop this attempted playing out from the back. We just arent capable, the players arent good enough. We take Ball off and leave an OAP in the centre of the park?!? We take Chair off, which is Warburtons only tactic. He was our best player in the first 10 minutes and can create something or at least create more than old Geoff. Its piss poor. The lack of intelligence from the management all through to the lack of urgency and desire from the players.
I did expect us as a football team to have at least one shot on goal during 90 minutes. Surely that's not too much to ask.
I don’t ( I said earlier in this thread that an improvement on last season and a top 10 would be good.) That ain't going to happen. Do you think we should be losing 2-0 at home to Preston? Is that what you thought before the game started? In this division I except my team to do better at home and improve on last season if you think we played well you should watch netball. That was going backwards.
WTF do they do in training? Tomorrow at 9am, 3 hours on how to pass a bloody football. Lunch of bread and water.
Agree. We do have many changes though including the major loss of Eze. But what concerns me more is that having been on top until they scored and creating some half chances, we fell to bits as soon as they scored.
Half the problem right there and that's why I try to give Warburton some slack (until now) there isnt time to train properley in the championship. Rest day tomorrow, light training friday, game saturday.
And one of them won 2-0 making the other side look a lot less than average. I would at least expect a less than average side to muster one....just one shot on target.
Having seen them on Sunday against Cardiff they had problems breaking down a well organised counter attacking side when at home, this on the other hand was right up their street, a poor home team with little penetration and not really putting them under any pressure near goal. They just had to wait for our mistakes. More concerning is there is no midfield 'general' who can dictate play, it's all sideways backwards sideways then give the ball away. Chair became anonymous but he's not really being played to his strengths. The side is not balanced and I can't work out what Warbs is trying to achieve playing carthorses like Wallace and Cameron and the formation he's using. It seems the players are just as baffled...
Spot on. The balance is awful. Where was Carroll actually playing tonight? Not that I'm blaming him for where hes instructed to play.
