Just listened to Burnham and Starmer's view of Tier 3 funding.

However well or bad the government have handled the Covid crisis I will never forgive or forget how the Labour Party are now deliberately undermining and dividing this country.

    Chancers!

Every day this goes on the more irate I get.....fuelled up by the biased media we have in this Country.....LBC & BBC to just name two.
I actually feel sorry for Boris and Co, for having to look, to be doing the right thing with Covid (out of proportion in my book) ....and to try and keep the Country moving knowing the full consequences after we come out of this.....Labour seems to be rubbing their hands with the Country looking to fall on it's knees..Vote gains.
And of course we are trying to tackle coming out of the EU as well.
The funny thing is, I believe what ever happens and say for argument sake we had another election.......Boris & Co would still win by a Country mile!! Shows how out of touch Labour has become!!

It is total political opportunism by labour, Burnham and Khan and others. Aided and abetted by a biased media.

Khan asked for pub curfew of 10pm 2 weeks ago, now he is saying he wants the curfew to be ended totally.

We all think the same way as you. We need to find a way of measuring deaths over and above those who would've died anyway.

This. Is. Literally. Why. We. Use. Excess. Deaths.

You've wasted 2 pages, arguing a point you're wrong on. We all agree that Covid misreports some things. Even if you clearly cannot get it, all you need to know is that excess deaths answers that question. It is the best way of measuring which deaths are 'real' and which ones are 'symptom'-like as you put it. That is the exact point of using excess deaths, because it solves the problem you're describing.

Just wondering what's wrong with Burnham asking for furlough money to go to his constituents who's businesses are forced to close down? That's all he's doing?

Manchester was offered a third of what Liverpool got. So what's wrong with what he did?

I'm not wrong on the principle that you don't understand...
You have been saying that 44,000 deaths are down to Covid......and I am saying they are not.....Tick boxes.....We now do not know how many deaths are related to Cancer, or Kidney failure or whatever......because many of them now have been registered as Covid..It will look like according from the figures that we have cracked other illnesses .....We won't ever know why there are excess deaths compared to other years as they've been misrepresented......

The problem with misrepresenting the figures, is we can't guarantee that the excess deaths were not caused by isolating everyone in March for 3 months....I'm not saying that's true but no way of proving it either!!

Death rates 2 days ago 19th Oct....registered as Covid..In England..45......But how many of them died of Covid? We won't ever know and IMO not worth shutting the Country down for which Labour wants us to do!!

That is excess deaths since 2000. Remember, no doctor, no explanation as to how they died, just the number of those who died above average. Things to note:

    - This is a five-year moving average. We have had 60,000 more deaths than the average of the preceding 5 years
    - That final bar, the Covid one, is in HALF of the time that the other bars were recorded
    - Every other bar includes the winter, where more deaths occur. The final bar hasn't even reached that yet

I'm not really sure what your point is, that people aren't dying of Covid? This is indisputable proof. We've got a new record, in half the time, with the worst half to come.

Probably because Manchester has not fully adhered to the covid regulations and he has not (much like Khan enforced them). But I suspect the clincher might have been crying poor for money and then finding money in his budget to threaten legal action against the government.

It's not proof whatsoever.........We still don't know why........it's BS. What about the amount of excess deaths that's not published because people were not allowed to get treatment for other life threatening illnesses because of Covid? You have well and truly been sucked in mate!

There are no excess deaths that aren't published. It's literally impossible. If you die, no matter what of, and it's above the average, it's counted. You still don't get what it is.

Anyway I've tried. I'm moving on. If you can't get it that's not my fault.

What Covid regulations have Manchester not adhered to which Liverpool did?

What money was it that he used to threaten legal action? And was it in any way comparable to the £60m amount he needed to protect the city?

I've not heard this so interested to see if I got the wrong side of it.

But I do mate, but we have no idea why do we? Over this last year, many possibilities why but no proof.....You carry on believing everything they tell you...even though you are being misled by misleading stats..

Do you think legal action is free?

One other thing to consider, I have just watched a documentary about the way Australia dealt with covid at it's ports and airports. It's worth looking at those processes and asking the question would the parasite human rights lawyers have allowed the same processes to occur in the UK.

Or you just carry on believing that 60,000 extra people dropped dead in just 6 months and it's pure coincidence.

I know which one sounds more loony.

Of which you're saying and believing, in fact stating possibly more than 44,000 dying of Covid has accounted for that. But if we are misled by the figures we don't know why 60,000 have dropped dead.
You still don't get it do you?
How many 1000's of people died because they couldn't get treated with serious illness because hospitals stopped taken them because of Covid restrictions? (adding towards the 60,000)
Tell me why we had 50,000 excess deaths in 2017/18

Many reasons, but predominantly because it was a particularly cold winter, the flu illness activity rating was the highest since the 2009 flu pandemic, the effectiveness of the flu vaccine was not as optimal as usual, and the 5-year moving average had 2 troughs preceding it - so a combination of many factors. You know what onefor, it's all in the report that you yourself linked. Which you've clearly not read.

You get spikes and you get dips. But this is a spike that is the highest ever, in half the time. It just happens to begin to rise when Covid hit. You have statistical significance and this is far, far beyond that. It's not a coincidence. And if you think it is you are absolutely delusional.

And give up with the 'you still don't get it'. You're the one who's displayed a lack of understanding of basic stats in the past 2 pages.

Many reasons is not an answer, it's clutching at straws. They believe that it was due to a particularly cold winter, but we've had plenty of those without such excess deaths, but yes there will be many factors why this happened and cold could be part of the statistic. Other factors could be knife crime peaks, terrorism or a rise in domestic abuse.. Could be a numerous of factors.
I understand stats, thank you......but I am not convinced why we have arrived at 60.000 excess deaths of which over 44,000 are down to the misleading figures we are given for Covid alone. You mention spikes and dips..we don't know without having the correct figures for death by Covid if we're in a spike or not...

Death from Covid or Death because of Covid restrictions, for people that had other life threatening illnesses..We don't have the figures...
My daughter in-law is a nurse at BRI, March, April and May was the quietest she's ever been with beds empty, that would normally be occupied for people with life threatening illnesses...
Correct information say we have 60,000 excess deaths, but incorrect information doesn't give us evidence to how we got there. We are being told to believe what they tell us....
NB. I'm not saying Covid is not a factor towards some of those deaths, but there are also many other factors that we are not told about (reported) correctly.

The money given to Manchester is the same in proportion to those affected elsewhere.
Same goes for Lancashire and now the Yorkshire/Sheffield area.

It's just the Burnham ego that's causing the hold up.

Bristol was not particularly hit hard by covid, like a few parts of Wales. Yet Newport was at one point the highest per population outside London.
Rather than dispute it all as a conspiracy theory, be grateful that your daughter in law did not have to experience what the nurses in Newport had to.
