I usually take them to El Toro They say it’s better with me. and I don’t stink of smoke oh and ye it was but I can’t remember the name Hang on Boars Nest
Typically HDM, the photo is not of the Earl De Grey it's the building next to it. That building is a listed building, and has had scaffolding around it for years. I used to go in mid 70s for all types of nuts/bolts, also used to be a gents hairdresser along the way, near where the new foot bridge is.
If you mean at the corner of Madeley Street it's this: Former City Temple at corner of Madeley Street, Hessle Road – Former Primitive Methodist Chapel with Sunday school to rear (Photo 39). Built 1880-1 at a cost of £8,200 – the most costly Primitive chapel in Hull. Designed by William Freeman. White brick with stone dressings. Romanesque style with two substantial buttressed towers with pyramidal roofs and a rose window in between. Chapel closed in 1933 and taken over by the Elim Pentecostal Church in 1934 who renamed it the City Temple. Closed in 1984 when City Temple moved to Prince’s Avenue.
Probably was. Went there for a meal with my wife after a City match a few years back. Very good meal. The only irritating thing was the greeting and service was good but he insisted on calling everyone guys, mixed couples and a table of four lasses included.
Didn't they move their business to South Cave after that (the owners, dont know if it was Hugh). I have heard nothing of them since.
Chef died I think at the Cave one a few years ago. Dont think its there any more, or not as Boars nest anyway
****ing hate being called "guys" when with female company. Especially find it irritating when the waiter addresses a couple of elderly pensioners as "guys". Just proves to me that they are not bright enough to adjust their greeting to suit the clientele. You wouldn't call a group of girls "lads" would you.
We got a new senior manager who started all his emails with Hi Guys, then proceeded to write a load of illiterate drivel with poor punctuation, no paragraphing and mainly no sense. He was devastated when all these things were brought to his attention as he really felt that he was a brilliant communicator who totally accessed people on their own individual platforms of need. He didn't. He was a ****. Sometimes you just need to tell people how it actually is.
