No grudge this time? Just for being too far away? You don't like their sausages? Endless possibilities.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to find a grudge against every club. They haven't really been opposition have they. Just looked it up and the last visit there was 2002 apparently. I could never hate a sausage whatever the provocation. They even have Lincoln Green don't they. I might hate them after the game today so something to look forward to.

We cannot afford to sit back in the first 15mins against them as will get punished. For once let's have 6 attempts in those 15, it's not that hard.....

M Cooper, Watts, Aimson, Nouble, Mayor, Moore, Fornah, Opoku, Camara, Abraham, G Cooper.

    Subs
Ruddy, Edwards, Hardie, Telford, Reeves, Law, Jephcott.

No Canavan or Wootton in defence are they injured ?....so is it Opoku back there.

Abraham before Jephcott, Hardie and Telford....is this a bit of a gamble from Lowe.

Not sure how this line up will cope.

Not much defensive back up if injuries occur.

Gallingly a good first half performance thrown away by a poor one in the second.

Dodgy penalty upset the applecart followed by a deflected cross that dropped in the wrong place for the second.

Nevertheless, seems we were poor in the second half.

Right then a few details on the bones. First half was a real 50/50 affair and even the stats for the half bore that out. A couple of chances apiece but nothing to cringe about. Lincoln demonstrated that they are a decent outfit. Good passing and all the usual. We were not second best though.

Now the big question comes regarding their penalty. There are two parts to this but lets take them in reverse so second first. It wasn't soft at all it was one of the worst decisions I've seen in a very long time and the dive, because that was what it was could not have been more contrived. Camara did not give it away the Ref awarded it for a reason in my book. Now we come to the first part. About a minute before they should have had a penalty. Their player went past ours and got an absolute nailed on push in the back. But, he was honest or stupid depending on your view because he stayed on his feet and his shot was saved/hit the post or something. Had he gone down there was no doubt the Ref would have given the penalty and it would have been the right decision. Two wrongs do not make it right even if the goal that resulted was probably fair overall. The second was well enough taken and not really anyone's fault particularly. Their player reacted quickly and nodded it in.

I have no complaints about the overall scoreline except the way it was achieved. We played well enough for the most part but they have a very well drilled defence and a first class keeper as we know. They will be up there somewhere unless something goes very wrong. We were not poor in the second half but we were made to look second best which is not the same thing at all.

Ryan Lowe spoke after the match about the chaotic build-up to the Lincoln game.

Conor Grant didn't feel well at the weekend and was tested for covid....he shares his living accommodation with Canavan and Wootton who also were tested although they felt fine.
Grant's test came back yesterday positive....but Canavan and Wootton were in the clear.....Ryan Lowe checked the situation out with the EFL who said that both of them couldn't play and were therefore sent home....they had already traveled up to Lincoln seperate from the team.
Lowe felt quite down about it all and was careful how he talked about the situation....he clearly didn't agree with the EFL's decision and felt that this sort of situation needs more talking about......this meant a reshuffle of his team......his announced starting eleven was surprising seeing at this time no one understood what had been going on during the day......and it possibly effected the players as well as the management.

I have watched the match video and it does seem that the ref was possibly fooled by a falling player.....Camara seemed in no doubt what had happened but the ref pointed at the penalty spot straight away......well taken penalty in the corner....Cooper going the right way but beyond his reach......Lowe was considering complaining about the decision...but what will that achieve now.....The second goal was a well headed ball from a reasonably close range.

Argyle performed well in the first half and the stats suggest an evenly fought game.....Lincoln started well in the second half and once they had got their penalty it became an uphill struggle from then onwards....Jephcott and Hardie came on but to no avail.

Obviously Lowe has to sort out with the EFL who is eligible for Saturdays trip to Wigan.....he doesn't need the EFL or Covid picking his team for him. How many players do you need being tested for Covid before the EFL allow a game to be postponed.....Crewe have been there and had a game called off twice... how many of there players were effected at the time.

We should not be seeing team selection weakened and teams being told that they still must play a match anyway....long trip back to Plymouth last night after a disappointing few days for Lowe and his players....got to quickly pick themselves up.....I was surprised how down Lowe was at the post match press conference....but I'm sure he'll be up and at it and get his players ready for the Wigan match....it's a shame that it is another long away trip.

Well someone knew about the covid: my other half who was told about it yesterday by a 6 year old at the school she works at! Plymouth is a small 0.25m person village, I presume the kid lives near the players.

I can't take credit fir maintaining confidentiality: she didn't tell me!

Just looked at the "match day moments" video....and there is an incident 2mins 45 seconds in... were an Argyle player seems to get scythed down inside the penalty area.....it looked more of a penalty than the one given to the "home" side for there drama production.

Do they pay Refs ...or do they just get expenses and a bag of crisps and a soft drink at H/T....is there something lacking in the quality of those doing the job... and do they need to be paid a proper professional rate....and therefore attract a better quality person to the job....or do they all end up being "homers".

That's not one of the worst penalty decisions I've ever seen.

It is without doubt THE worst penalty decision anywhere in the entire history of football worldwide.

The guy launches himself as if he's going off the 15m board.......................

Please please notdistant stop shilly-shallying about this....let us know how you really saw it.....so did the Ref not see it....did the rain get in his eyes....or was he looking forward to the promised fish and chip supper that he'd find in his changing room after the match....and didn't want to find it not there..
