Just seen the report and Wyke given a 7 for his link up play great ,but he is a striker. Maja was a striker with crap link up play, but he knew where the net was, and i would rather have him any day of the week, we would have went up then if we had sold him subject to keeping him till the end of season
His kicking is dreadful as well, he fills me with no confidence. Luckily for him he’s got a good defence infront of him. They are making him look a lot better than what he is though. I think he will come unstuck when we play a team who put him under the cosh
Roker Report has 09 MoM..could be right, nobody had a poor game ( even Wyke), nobody really stood out..but yes 09 had a good game, a strong lad!
There was one moment where Wyke had his back to goal and couldn't turn and shoot. Maja would have put it in like a flash. Mind, Maja couldn't do all the hard work up front that Wyke did tonight.
Just from memory when Maja left we were about 6 points from 2nd place and around 5th. By the end of the season we were in exactly the same position.
I'm going to give Wyke the goal for tonight so that's two in two, well done Chazzo or whatever the **** Parky calls him. Leadbitter was very good but I'd agree with O'Nien being Motm, caught the eye throughout and was solid defensively. He's got a good footballing brain you'll hardly ever see him give it away or take the wrong option.
well, onien just keeps giving...always in the right place yet not his best position, said last week his positional sense is excellent. dobson...two hand balls given away, one completely fluffed attempt at a clearance, fell over...his first 2 minutes on the pitch and thank feck he was not there longer, sure there was something else he managed to do wrong as well. wyke...getting better, could/should have been looking at a hat trick at least, how can he not stop the ball, spin and shoot ffs? everyone else (and wyke actually), decent all round performance, kept a team quiet (1 actual attempt at our goal?) that by all accounts has been playing good football...one of our strikers REALLY needs to start making his mark, there are goals galore for them to bag at the minute but as long as we keep gaining points i guess certain things will be overlooked/put up with...'if it aint broken etc'...but we need to get our GD looking healthier asap imho.
M Will be very disappointed if Parkinson drops Scowen for Dobson on Saturday Scowen has been very neat and tidy getting better each game. The three in midfield are working really well together
By replacing like for like? He replaced a right back with a centre back and moved the other player to RB.
Enjoyed the game tonight. Some really good play and created loads. Lost our way a bit towards the end. Would have loved another goal or two. Power, keep your head down. Bailey, wtf? Gooch, pick your spot next time.
With Ipswich losing we're the only unbeaten side in the league, and no goals conceded from open-play.
Well I've seen none of it, but, even thought it was a promoted Crewe, we still had to win. Goals will have to come obviously, but as long as the chances don't dry up, that should improve.
Another clean sheet despite being without 2 of our 3 regular central defenders is a great achievement. We've had incredibly bad luck with injuries in that area, but it's testament to the strength in depth and versatility of the squad that we can continue to keep the opposition out. The return to form of Leadbitter, and the introduction of Scowen has made a big difference to the midfield, and both wing backs look dangerous. Portsmouth had Wyke on toast last season, as he was too easy to mark. For that reason, I'd go with Graham on Saturday.
