It's no different in that sense.. They're simply reinventing the champions league to run along side the current domestic leagues.. Its a closed shop Instead of worrying about qualifying for the champions league they are always in it and none of the other clubs would bother seeking to gain the riches of qualifying for it.
Throw them both out of the PL. They wanted a closed shop: rejected. They threaten to leave all the while negotiating in the background. They block takeovers of other clubs for fear of competition. Both owned by American billionaires who want yo create a football version of the NFL. ****ing Yanks.
Unfortunately though for them they won't have a say. The other big clubs of other leagues will though.
Because it is the top of the top. Man Utd and Liverpool are the top of the top from our League. The other 4 clubs may control the PL but not at a European wide level
That's not how it'll work though.. Its a closed shop they're all in it, so having just a much say as each other.. They're just guaranteeing their place in what will replace the champions league. It means other clubs won't even be able to go after the riches and will accept its not financially viable.. No point we will pay more and gain nothing
That is not how I read it. I read that 5 teams from England will get in. 2 of them (ie Liverpool and Man Utd) guarenteed each year. That leaves 3 not guarenteed.
Personally don't think it matters in this case. Either means 2 clubs can **** off or 5 clubs can **** off.
No it doesn't though they all stay, but they cannot lose what is now referred to as champions league money.. It just means the other clubs / investors can no longer gain more revenue from gaining a top 4 spot.... This replaces the champions league that's all and those 5 are always in it regardless of what happens domestically
