Good Morning. It's Monday 19th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds top table for football-related arrests for last season

A report, just disclosed shows Whites fans have had more football related arrests than than any other club in England and Wales during the 2019/20 campaign

In total, 52 Leeds fans were arrested last term, enough to put them atop the league of shame.

Leeds supporters were detained 19 times for public disorder, 15 times for alcohol offences, 10 times for violent disorder, three for throwing missiles and two for pitch incursion among other misdemeanours.

In total, there were 1,089 football-related arrests in the 2019-20 campaign, down 20 per cent compared with 2018-19.

A total of 287 hate crimes were recorded by police at matches across England and Wales in 2019/20 up from 193 in 2018/19

Hate crimes against sexual orientation more than doubled, from 37 in 2018/19 to 78 last season.

Race hate crimes increased from 152 to 214.

It is not known whether the arrests that were made at the strongly critisised open top bus celebration were taken into account?

The Leeds hierarchy, who had begged fans multiple times over recent days TO STAY AWAY from Elland Road were rewarded for disobeying orders, and treated to the open-top bus celebration.

As news spread, the streets around Elland Road become submerged with jubilant (and many drunken) Leeds fans celebrating their clubs success. Chaos quickly spread, with hundreds of public order offences noted, as well as damage to multiple vehicles.

Most football-related arrests by clubs in 2019/20 (England and Wales)

    Leeds United - 52

    Birmingham City - 49

    Bolton Wanderers - 45

    Aston Villa - 31

    West Ham United - 30

    Manchester City - 29

    Cardiff City - 27

    Southampton - 26

    Tottenham Hotspur - 25

    Liverpool - 25

    Burnley - 25

    Portsmouth - 24

    Leicester City - 24

    Newcastle United - 23

    Chelsea - 23

    Millwall - 21

    Manchester United - 21

    Liverpool and Spurs eye Phillips

Media reports from the Mirrior have suggested that Liverpool and Spurs will battle it out next Summer for Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips came close to leaving last Summer, admitting that his head was turned by Villa's interest in him. Fortunately, after speaking to Victor Orta, the 24yo signed a new five-year contract, tying himself to the club until 2024.

It's believed that Phillips earns £30,000 a week under his new contract, though both Spurs and Liverpool could double or even triple that.

Is 50m what England midfielders go for these days?

    Team News

Bielsa will give skipper Liam Cooper a late fitness test ahead of tonight's game against Wolves

With Diego Llorente sidelined, Bielsa will be hoping that Cooper has overcome his groin injury he picked up on International duty with Scotland.

Leeds will take no chances. If there is any doubt over his fitness, Cooper will be given a few days' extra rest ahead of a trip to Aston Villa on Friday night. Pascal Struijk stands by.

Jack Harrison should return to the starting line up having been ineligible to face his parent club Manchester City.

Rodrigo is expected in the starting lineup following his impressive display against Citeh.

    Morning all,

The interest in Phillips is pure paper talk trying to fill column inches. Of course they will be looking at him but that's about it.
I saw one paper say when reporting this that leeds had a financial problem but then didn't expand on what that problem was. Rubbish paper talk.

It will be good to see Harrison back tonight. Hopefully Cooper is fit but i don't feel overly worried if Struijk has to deputise. More than capable.

Hard game to call tonight. Wolves can be very good as this could be a tough one but they have not had the best of starts.
On our current form I fear no one though.

Things I’m hoping to see tonight
    1. Poveda given a chance
    2. Rodrigo starting at 10 then replaced by Pablo with Bamford coming off and Rodrigo pushed up front
    3. Raphinha
Of course Bamford could be great and score and then how do I get to see Poveda and Raphinha unless Harrison is subbed or Poveda given a go in the middle. This footy malarky is too heavy on a Monday morning

Can't see Phillips leaving unless it's for mega money and a mega transfer fee to be honest.

Think we're in for a very tough game tonight. Not sure what to expect and I think it could go either way. I worry about their pace on the counter but hopefully we'll be able to cope with that.

Happy with either Cooper or Struijk as the LCB as both are more than capable. If Cooper is having issues I'd keep him side lined rather than risk a longer term injury. Would be nice to get another clean sheet tonight. I am in the camp that would like to see Rodrigo starting in the middle tonight. Having Hernandez and Raphinha on the bench to bring on in the 2nd half will be class too.

Morning all, want a win but will take a draw, as I have been impressed with Wolves last 2 seasons.

I think Rodrigo has shown enough that he is ready to start tonight.
Hope to see another Bamford goal or two as well. Needs to keep in the race for the golden boot.

1000's of Leeds fans are drunk as a skunk at most games particularly away matches

I'm not surprised with those figures one bit

since bielsa came we have heard players need to pass his fitness tests before being considered for the squad.yet rodrigo has been included and now talk of raphinha being considered.the general view on here was new signings would need while xmas to get up to bielsas standards.i wonder what message this sends to the lads who trained with the first team last season but were treated different.shakleton is a case in point because to me he has never let us down.he is fairly quick too yet hardly gets a look in.jamie never seems to hold down one position and i am not sure which one is suitable.he is way too small for a fullback and maybe he will leave the club to further his career and actually play some games because he is wasting away.

Why would Kalvin want to play for another club when he is working under one of the best coaches who is taking us into Europe?

    Spot on chesh.

Whilst we've shown we can compete at this level every game has been sphincter nipping tight so far.

We'll win some and lose some, so a draw is never a bad result <ok>

On the player arrests list it doesnt say where or when the arrests took place. When a club like our takes so many travelling fans there is more chance of trouble. Would like to bet most of ours were caused by home fans having a go at our fans down the road. Always going to be trouble at Derby, !ilwall or anywhere in London areas. Not hearing about much trouble at home, maybe the odd firework after we won the league and congregated at ER illegaly?

I think the fact that Rodrigo has been included and Raphinha is being considered shows they're up to Bielsa fitness standards and he believes they make the team better where other players need more coaching to be up to his standards or Bielsa believes that for example Shackleton is good but not better than any current members of the team.

We've signed better players, from higher leagues who were first team starters. They're already at a very high standard of both fitness and ability otherwise they wouldn't be internationals as well.

Previously we had to sign squad players from higher leagues (on loan) and then try to get them up to full speed on the training ground...simple really.

Shackleton and others are finding out the consequences of promotion as we improve the squad. If he's good enough he'll get his chance eventually but patience will be required for now.

so our academy players are not as good as led to believe ?.it will not be cheap to run and if we produce no first teamers we become like chelsea and the rest .we have two man city now in the squad also a french goalie.when was the last time we saw one of our own.Leif davis is meant to be quick and a good player yet he cannot get a game.
