Another deal sheet has been required for Tottenham's attempt to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea. It is expected to be completed though - with Wolves' Ryan Bennett joining the Swans. Looks like are meeting halfway between Tottenham's £7m valuation and Swansea's £25m demand.
So £11m I just saw on Sky Sports News. So both clubs are happy to accept that Harry Maguire is the equivalent cost of 7 x Joe Rodon ?
Alasdair Gold is basically a Spurs mouthpiece, so I'd take those figures with a pinch of salt. It'll be straight from the club, but it may well be how we're spinning it.
Update: At 4:54pm, Sky Sports (Transfer Live blog October 16, 2020), reported that Tottenham and Swansea are close to agreeing a deal. TalkSPORT (Transfer Live blog, 4:59pm, October 16, 2020) stated that Spurs have agreed to pay Swansea £15 million plus add-ons for Rodon.
This wasn't done late. Our lot have had enough time to do social media crap, interviews, photoshoots and the like. I suspect it was so that you could sort out your business without the other clubs knowing you had his fee coming in.
From the Swans: Swansea City defender Joe Rodon has completed a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance. The 22-year-old centre-half leaves the Liberty for Spurs – where he has signed a five-year deal - after making 54 first-team appearances for his boyhood club, having first joined the Swansea academy at the age of eight. The Llangyfelach product helped the club’s under-19s to FAW Youth Cup success, and also helped the under-23s secure a league and cup double during his development. Following a loan spell at Cheltenham, he returned to the Swans and was handed his debut by Graham Potter against Preston at the start of the 2018-19 season.
Good luck for the future Joe , you didn't leave yourself or the Club down .Still not fussed on Spurs though
Swansea City has completed the signing of Ryan Bennett from Wolverhampton Wanderers, subject to international clearance. The 30-year-old centre-half makes the move to SA1 on a three-year contract and will wear the number two shirt. He becomes Swansea's third deadline-day signing, following the arrivals of Kasey Palmer and Joel Latibeaudiere. The former England Under-21 international brings a wealth of experience with over 100 Championship appearances to his name, as well as Premier League stints with Norwich City, Wolves and Leicester.
You watch there will be delays in sorting out the clearance because the welsh fa close early as it’s the weekend
