I think all this time there were actually three things going on: Donald working with Methven and Sartori to re-distribute the shares between them (as per Alan Nixon's tweet months ago) FPP (Fuhrman) actively trying to get Donald to accept his offer instead - but this offer was too low for Donald. However as Donald does want out they began detailed talks in hope of agreeing a deal. Donald asking Storey to pretend he had a rival bid as a ridiculous attempt to drum up competition and push Fuhrman into upping his bid. Fuhrman has then stood firm (as you'd expect a heavy hitter to do so) which has now resulted in Donald moving back to option 1. It would explain all of the conflicting ITK stories. Those saying share distribution just had the inside track on Option 1. Those saying no takeover similar. Those saying something was happening knew about option 2. This includes Nick Barnes. Storey's tweets obviously option 3 - utterly fabricated hence nobody ever verifying them.
While I believe every thing that has been said about this being a real takeover, I just get the impression that no one n their right mind would buy any football club outside the top flight until the financial effects of the pandemic are fully known, including any rescue package. For the Yanks with the loan they can just sit and wait and take the club over for nothing if the loan isn’t repaid. As they are sharp businessmen they will wait it out as they have all the cards. I do think that if we had crowds back In the ground, this would have been sorted by now. I don’t claim any ITK just my opinion, but I would be interested to hear from those with access to information if I am a million miles away?
way I see it if its Sartori taking over Donalds shares its down to 2 reasons 1. He can see the potential we have and sees what a mess he has made of it and knows he can do better (not hard), hence why he has kept his distance to date 2 He is helping Donald out to try and ease the pressure on him and also protect the value of the club not dropping further by the fans boycotting everything to do with the club Hopefully if its Sartori its option 1 which also ties in with all the rumours that he fell out with him prior to all this happening
So its SD selling shares to Santori **** me what a waste of everyones time Most typical Sunderland "takeover" you could imagine
well he might be selling some to GF as well though, jus guessing. It isn't the most satisfying takeover ever and is a kick in the nads yet again, but I am not sure why we expected anything different. And anything that sees Fat Boy Gimp with no involvement is at least a start
Not necessarily. With Sartori, you get someone with direct links to football club ownership, someone from a football culture, someone with a demonstrable history of setting up and running a very successful business. Comparatively, Fuhrman would have been a complete novice when it comes to running a football club. He could easily be another Short.
From my perspective, Sartori buying ALL of Donald's shares is better than nothing. Sartori buying some and leaving Donald some is bad. The only way I'll accept Donald retaining anything is if the majority shareholder is somebody new.
No I wasnt. I just shared what I thought was some bad news. Its not exactly good news that its not what he wanted initially.
Why? Is there an issue about you just posting it on the board for everyone to see like? After all, you posted the info regarding the 10th for everyone to see so doesn't make sense to me why any follow up couldn't be posted the same way.
@Prehab26 is you're latest info up to date or a few days old. I for one am more optimistic now any lucrative bail out deals from the Prem are off the table. Hopefully any negative info was based on SD thinking he could hang on with the help of Prem money In any case no point in feeling down until the truth is out. As they say Chose optimism. Doesn't change anything but it feels better.
Sunderland fans when these ****ers **** off don't tell us what's in the pipeline it's more fun that way
The information has personal info and details of where the information has come from..so I rather not post everything on a public forum. Sometimes, its best to trust one or two people and share all your info that way.
Some kind of bail out is still on. However the Big Picture deal that Parry was involved in would have put £250m of direct grants to the EFL clubs. The Prem are now talking about only £50m and not all as grants but mainly loans that need to be paid back. Not the lucrative pay day Parry was trying to sell for his mates
If it is Sartori taking more shared than absolutely nothing will change, it’s no doubt another kick of the can down the road until they all make their millions for doing **** all. Rodders will still be here giving it the small time mantra he has done since day one, DJ Metheid will be fiddling in the background ensuring fans gets dogged at any opportunity. I ****ing hate them all.
Sartori with 74% and SD with 20% would be better than where we are now. Nowhere near ideal, but better. And Sartori might be more inclined to bring FPP on board. It’s all quite annoying.
