Good Morning. It's Tuesday 13th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Norwich have knocked back 15m offer from Whites for Cantwell Victor Orta has been speaking about last minute deals as the 5pm Friday deadline drawers closer. In particular, Leeds Director of football confirmed interest in both Todd Cantwell and Louie Sibley. One thing we didn't know was Norwich knocked back a 15m offer on playmaker Cantwell just before the main transfer window slammed shut Orta said: “When we analysed the market, we detected that with the requirements we have for this position, if a player is not realistic over all the requirements, bringing in a player for the sake of bringing in a player is not clever. “It can be worse. We prefer to bring in a good player.” Orta also spoke about Cantwell, and Sibley of Derby. “We analyse all the players. We know them really well, their clubs were our rivals, we analysed (Cantwell) in the Premier League,” “But it’s like a lot of the players we’ve analysed, it’s difficult. They are players we analysed, we have information and then we need to think about the possibility.” please log in to view this image The Championship is a very unforgiving place Everyone knows how difficult it is to get out of the Championship, and although Hull made it look easy shouldn't clubs like Norwich and Derby cut their cloth accordingly. Yes, Norwich have para-shoot payments, though these will quickly dry up. After a handful of games, the Canaries lie in 17th position, and Derby two places below them hovering above Forest, Wycombe and the Wendies in the drop zone. This goes to show what an unforgiving league the Championship is. It would be very different if the cash was splashed around the second tier of English football to represent the strengths and talent of arguably the toughest second tier league in the World, but it isn't. Where would Leeds be now had they failed to go up? A recent report stated that the Whites were down 40m due to lost revenue due to the Corona Virus, thank goodness they were promoted!!! Were Norwich stupid for turning down 15m for Cantwell? When will football clubs start to fold? please log in to view this image Radrizzani makes his feelings clear on Project Big Picture We read yesterday about Liverpool's plans to effectively hand control of the Premier League to the top 6, and in exchange, they will bail out the EFL clubs. Andrea Radrizzani has made his feelings clear by retweeting respected football journalist Henry Winter's concerns on the matter. "Now what they're going to do is ultimately take more money out of English football and they're ultimately going to control it. "They're going to say to the likes of Burnley you don't really count, they're going to say to the likes of Aston Villa and Leeds, who have come up, they don't really count because we've got the voting power. "There are good elements to it in terms of helping out the EFL clubs but not at the cost of destroying 130 years of English football. "They'd be able to dictate who becomes the owner of other clubs and, if they see a really wealthy person coming into a middle-ranking club who could compete and invest in the team, they'd say 'no, we don't want them in there as that would cause problems for us long-term'. "This great sport belongs to the people of this country, it doesn't belong to someone in Boston or the Everglades. "I find it absolutely disgusting." please log in to view this image Bad news for defensive duo Phil Hay has disclosed that both Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente will miss upcoming games with respective groin injuries. Llorente is out for three weeks with Cooper likely out for two weeks. However, both players will have a fitness update ahead of the Wolves game on Monday. All Leeds fans will now be hoping that Robin Koch stays injury free playing for Germany in their Nations League game against Switzerland tonight. please log in to view this image

morning bud ..morning Elland...cooper is out again happens regular too regular.how can six clubs take control i thought the premier league was a seperate entity now.six clubs versus 14 no one will bet on those odds. sick of these stupid international games and lack of Leeds games.without the cups and euro football make this a boring once a week league.monday night football should never have been allowed .man city have a big squad and lots of talent so they shine in the prem but even the maestro pep has done nothing in the champions league. sibley and cantwell i know nothing about so i have no opinions.plain to see we need a left back and that Dallas should now be a squad player. i have read we only have six seniors at thorpe arch training. All this talk of Bielsa being able to work with the new signings is bollox.
I think Norwich will need Delia to write a few more books or they can take what they are offered .........
Morning all Morwich will be ok as soon as the transfer window closes as they have some good players who were hoping to be sold. Once thats gone its shop window time for them so Cantwell will be busting a gut to get back into the team. Buendia will run himself to death and they have 2 defenders who can perform in the Prem. The Project Big Picture stuff means something is going to happen and its obvious it will happen now. The EFL have been begging government for £200m because that will be the losses for EFL clubs due to no crowds. The Big Picture plan offers them that money and already 85% of the clubs have said yes. The government didnt come up with the idea so slagged it iff but wont give football the £200m they will refer it back to the Premier League so a big compromise will come whereby the EFL get £200m but for that the Premier league will have to give in to some of the Big 6 ideas. Forget the FA and its Golden Share as they too are being bought off by getting £100m which they need due to Covid and mismanagement of Wembley. If things go nuclear the big 6 may threaten to leave the Premier League and its a fact that the EFL will go with them to form another football organisation that will get recognition because it will have the backing of the FA and EFL. The other 14 clubs like Leeds will have to go along. This would mean the Big 6 controlling football and all tv rights cutting out the Premier League completely The nuclear option is the final piece and last resort and thats why I think something will happen, maybe not the original plan but something because the football pyramid is collapsing and the EFL clubs will eat their babies to get cash and as far as they see it the big 6 already run football so makes no difference to them
We need to make it clear to those players from the lower leagues that we may want that we can offer them a good deal, the premier league and a great club and coach but that their current lower division poor club in standing in the way of their ambitions and ability.
I think with Cooper, he is playing at his absolute peak. The lad isn't blessed with too much natural talent, but he makes up for it with effort, fitness and positional play. You'll always get 90 minutes graft from him. Because he as at his peak, he is susceptible to injury
I don’t think that the “big six” will give a **** about EFL and definitely won’t take the clubs with them. They want the money and the power to make sure a club like ours, with ambition, from breaking up their little cabal. If no one plays ball they may well breakaway but it will be with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich etc. to form a European league of the richest clubs. No promotion to it for anyone else.
Heard interviews with Peterborough boss who sold a player for £10m but is still pumping money in. Leyton Orient owner who says some clubs in the Championship never mind L1&2 will go bust within weeks. Director of Derby also saying many are on the precipice now and need cash. The goverment bailed out The Arts that hardly any of us use so that some lefty actors, musicians and museums can call us racists. But take politics out of this because only the Premier League an deal with this and it needs a 9 vote majority to do anything and 14-6=8.
My biggest objection to the deal is the rule of 6 Football finances have been crying out for reform for years but not like this Before we know where we are TV companies will run football in this country even more than they do now
Good Morning to Matt and Doc and co from a very cold Bardsey Sibley at 10m is still a steal I watched him last season several times on EFL and always shone like a beacon best buy for me so lets do it although with our track record V Derby doubt they would sell him to us
We have enough of these sort of players already, promising youngster who's never played in the PL - would rather see Shackleton, Greenwood and Geldhart developed more and gaining PL experience than give Derby of all clubs double his market value. He'd hardly get any games either.
