Exactly so why take it even remotely seriously? A pack of greedy rats trying it on. Hopefully they’ll get forced to sell their assets, and **** off.
There’s plenty of the detail out there & it’s all fake altruism from the ‘big 6’ with the price for this being effective total control over the entire league and all future decisions. 2 sets of Sherman’s who’ve invested precisely **** all into their clubs between them, wanting to rape the PL lesser lights for additional revenue.
This is one of the suggestions. They've been pushing for it for a number of years. It would benefit Spurs, but at what cost? People watch the Premier League all over the world because it's competitive and it changes. You get Huddersfield coming up, Villa going down, Leicester winning it and Liverpool finishing in 8th. It's not a procession to watch Barca/Juve/Bayern/PSG or whoever picking up their next title, again. We want more competition and not forcing clubs from lower leagues to play against our bloody reserves. These ****ers don't understand it and just want a quick way to grab more cash. They don't care about the sport or the future of the league as a whole.
Not the ones posting on here but point taken. Some really barrel scraping deflection going on to justify it as well.
Wouldn't take much notice of astro. He was trying to justify them furloughing staff earlier this year. #neverforget
Only the fully fledged cult members are defending this one, and even they’re struggling to find an angle.
Have they though? There's only really me luv and astro on here, I don't even like football, luv said he don't care or summin and astros pulling all your pants down again. But way to go generalising
Did I hurt you bro? I admire the way you don't care about football but still manage to take it so personally
You are right, they tried a few seasons back to force the b teams in, eventually a compromise was agreed to allow the U21's (name was important, because 'b' teams wouldn't be accepted) in the Tinpot Cup, which I believe was boycotted by lower league supporters as a result. I can't speak bad of Spurs or Arsenal, because they helped my team out this season with loan players, when we only had 6 full timers due to covid finances, and our manager (Steve Evans) has a good rapport with them (Spurs & Arsenal). This is a win, win for clubs like yours and mine, because the players that can't make your first team, probably due to age (young) and require further development. I like the loan method far better than B Team or U21 options, because no one is forcing anything on anyone, we can either ask you to help us out with a player, or not, the choice is a two way street. The one thing in all this is the wording of the methods used, lower league fans can be very sensitive to the mere utterance of certain language, something the big money men don't understand. I've always felt the leagues need restructuring, but for different reasons. My preference is an L2 North and South, consisting an amalgamation of the National League Teams. It costs clubs way too much as it stands in travelling expenses. With that could maybe come a restructuring of the top tiers, but I'm not convinced I know what the answer is to that. The one thing that does cause me slight concern, is the top half of the Championship is now becoming a bit elitist, from the lower half and L1, L2 - The reason I believe this has come about is because of the Premier League itself, and the clubs that were relegated from it with parachute payments.
They ruined the EFL Trophy with that compromise and made it completely pointless. It's supposed to have the academy players of the top teams play the lower league sides' first team players. When do they schedule it? During the international breaks, when the academy players are away. Utter idiocy. The finances of the whole league need to be readdressed. Parachute payments are not the way to go, as it creates situations like that of Norwich. Go up, grab the cash and basically accept your relegation without a fight, as you'll have plenty of money. Just give the money to the division as a whole and increase the overall amount.
