So United and Liverpool want to cut the PL to 18 teams, with only 2 to be relegated automatically annually - the 16th placed team would enter the Championship play-offs to retain their PL status https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....forces-Project-Big-Picture-huge-shake-up.html
A European super league is getting ever closer and the game as we wish it to be will disappear , never minds as long as there's someone with a mate and a ball the game at grass roots level will still exist , can the same be said of the PL
I’ve started going to watch local football now, surprisingly standard isn’t that bad. All I see this is the big six out to grab more of the money for themselves, with the lower league teams have to pick the crumbs off the floor. Bit like Oliver “Please sir can I have some more”, by doing this will sound the death keel for lower league teams. I’ve a feeling this is what they want to happen. Scum the lot of them.
I've always loved Swansea senior and junior leagues but the senior league isn't what it was with it getting smaller each year in terms of divisions and standards / ability has dropped dramatically , in part due to the success of the Swans , Most of my grandkids play so when it was normal I'd be like a camp follower, and thats something I do miss .The PL I'm not fussed about at all and the Swans well they're still my team and I want the best for them but should we gain promotion will it be as enjoyable as the first couple of years when we went up the first time , I doubt it
Are these so called top six all involved with American ownership ? ........ I never have trusted any Yank when money is involved. ............... really wish we could get shot of these buggers involved with us.
I think the only yank owners are Liverpool, Man ure , the rest a mixed bunch of arabs and a couple of UK owners, my mistrust of football clubs covers most nationalities
I agree Matt - but the Yanks don’t want relegation, they’d want to ring fence the PL and they would undoubtedly want to maximise their financial gain. I had dealings with Pearlman when he was with the Swans - nice guy, but when it came to business matters, let’s just say, in my opinion, he’d sell his granny to make a buck ....
Isn't that true of most big businesses out of the so called big six ( that's a debatable who should be on the list) they're all in in for the money. Because we had "local " owners that was the reason we as a Club were held up as a shining example of how a Club should be run .The PL have been pushing to break away for awhile now and I think this is just the start of that transition
Oliver Holts tweet. I am getting round to thinking if the so called ‘top 6’ want to break away and form a Euro league then let them. They can become the Harry and Meghan of the UK football world. The rest of the teams can take the opportunity to get back to sensible football funding and competition.
I’d be happy with that, let them all bugger off and re format all four leagues. Introduce a fair share of the monies to everyone. Bring in wage caps to make sure clubs live within their means. It would be great to get away from the greed that the top 6 want. Best still, who decides on the big six. So let’s assume these are the top six: Liverpool Man City Man Utd Spurs Arsenal Chelsea I’m sure a club like Everton will say they should be part of it. As the film goes, let them go, let them go.
I wouldn't pay £14.95 to watch any game. And an "online season ticket" should be a lot less as well, you're paying for the whole experience with an actual season ticket.
It could be the future , look at the size of the Asian market for the likes of Utd . Liverpool etc .They'll have to find away to block live streaming then its a captive audience .As far as the likes of the "top 6" are concerned the rest of us can eat cake as Ms Antoinette once announced (and just look what happened to her)
This is the clincher. I think it's practically impossible to block all streaming but it'll be much harder and therefore less people will be doing it.
