Legal action being taken against the government over the non publicising of contracts to the value of £3 billion. https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/n...33Qmh5I07CRHl1I5CA0J_Ul39FeVX3F3l2K61nsZ8uZoc
Jolyon Maugham QC of the Good Law Project is going to end up being one of my favourite people if he carries on the way he has been. It was he, just over a year ago, who successfully prosecuted the government in the Supreme Court over the illegal prorogation of Parliament.
This lot's bad faith is demonstrated by the proposed furlough payments for up north. If you are on £1200 a month and you are offered £800 you are in trouble. Alternatively if you are on £3000 a month and you are given £2000 you probably are not. It would seem fairer to me were they to pay 100%!up to (say) £20,000 p.a. And then keep it at that flat rate. The cost would most likely be the same.
As a measure of the Tories ****ing awful treatment of working people you may like to know that a third of all 8 to 16 year old school children now qualify for free school meals. You have to be a blindingly foolish masochist to vote Tory.
Shock news. A government minister is a bit of a tosser. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was put out by big Dom as a means of getting us to look away from the wholly **** big picture. Yeah it was stupid, but it’s bugger all news compared to other stuff. Just say ‘prat’ and move on. There are bigger fish that need frying.
One of the aforementioned bigger fish, folks. Although I don’t see the problem. If lots of oiks have a limited diet then maybe they won’t get fat and be a burden on the NHS.
We live in a capitalist state, run by the rich and powerful, who exert an unhealthy influence over a capitalist government, to the detriment of the poorer sections/people of our society, but because their decisions don’t adversely affect some groups of people, they ignore it. In fact many of them possibly support it, by voting for the Tories at the ballot box. But when the richest, biggest and most powerful clubs try to increase their wealth and level of influence, over the smaller and poorer sections of the football fraternity, by taking advantage of this pandemic, it becomes a big deal. Although it annoys me, that the Big 6 clubs are trying to do this, it doesn’t bother me as much as it does others, as it is a reflection of the world we live in, where the greedy minority will always want more, to the detriment of the poor majority.
Well, we’re truly ****ed now. The bastards passed the Agriculture Bill last night, with no amendment to continue to keep to current EU standards of food safety and hygiene. I’m pleased that my local MP, though a Tory, voted against it but she was in the minority. Most of the others blindly followed Spaffer and Demonic’s lead .... So, we’re open for business to our US “chums” with all the (literal) **** in their food ..... more money for those with their snouts in the trough. I will NEVER forgive anyone who voted for Brexit or this appallingly useless bunch of tossers .... Sadly it’s the people on lower income who will suffer for this - but with a Tory government what do you expect?
Going through my old mail I found this to John Howell my MP in the Henley on Thames ward. He's a sycophantic follower of the party line. I didn't get a reply. Dear Mr Howell Thank you for your reply with its reference to your website piece defending the internal markets bill. I can only say it doesn't ring true for me and other expats here in the Netherlands who have had similar replies from their MPs which are at odds with the concerns of many MPs from your party. The oven ready deal so heavily promoted during the 2019 election campaign is anything but. It echoes the hollow promises of the 2016 referendum campaign and subsequent statements such as "there is no plan for a no deal, because we are going to get a great deal" Johnson in the HoC July 2017 orLiam Foxsaying a post brexitfree trade deal with the EU would be the “easiest in human history". I have no confidence in this government's ability to negotiate a deal in the best interests of its constituents. Yours sincerely, StJabbo The Hague, Netherlands 23/09/2020
Liz Truss is still denying that we will do a deal with the USA, for their meat, but she lies with the best of them. Yesterday, on Channel 4 Dispatches, they covered the standard of meat , in US supermarkets, and it is worse than just the chlorinated chicken we keep hearing about. Might be worth looking at on catch up, but just a few things that come out of the programme is shown in the photo, below, taken from a report in a national newspaper.
Dear Mr Jabbo I’d love to help but note you live in the Netherlands. Got my people to check and it’s not in my constituency. However, let me take up the oven-ready point. When one buys a chicken described as “oven-ready” this isn’t literal as it still needs stuffing. Any Brexit deal is going to stuff the British economy and our agricultural community. Thus the analogy holds. You remain, sir, like dog turd on my shoe T. Osser MP
Dear T Osser and your arssistant W Anchor, Actually I am one of your constituants with a postal vote which I, as will many others in a similar situation, will be using to rid the country of the blight currently masquerading as a government. The only thing getting stuffed is those unfortunate people left to carry the can and pay the bill. Beside spaffer Johnson who is over the barrel waiting for Donny to come in dry. May your ear holes turn into arseholes and **** all over your shoulders. With no regards and less respect StJ
I have come to the conclusion they are a bit thick up north or am I being a bit too generous. First they vote for Brexit, then they put Johnson in power then they go around killing their grannies by their risky behaviour.
