I thought that, after the 90s, we all agreed that really busy printed designs on shirts were abominations and we'd never do that again. Who the **** thought the world was calling out for a paisley football kit, or the Man Utd shirt which looks like a printer glitch, or Wolves' pseudo-tie dye, or Arsenal's where all the players look like they ran through a thicket of brambles and are bleeding through the shirt?
Problem is the obsession with having a new shirt every year.... difficult to be innovative if your team usually plays in a plain colour. They should bring back the rule kits have to last 2 or 3 seasons
I'd suggest that these shirts are innovative in the same way that a dog that eats too quickly sometimes innovates on the carpet 30 mins later.
Jesus. That Wolves away strip! And the Burnley home one, seems like their sponsors are diversifying from gambling to running brothels.
I think the club have been more than fair offering a complimentary home shirt for those that pre ordered the new shirt and got it with the LD Sport logo. That said, I stand by my original statement not to buy a shirt with a betting logo on the front. But two decisions by the club have surprised me. Firstly, they are selling off all the LD Sport stock at the vastly reduced price of .... ...wait for it... £42!!! Would much rather have heard they were donating the shirts to lower league clubs or sending them abroad. Anything other than ripping the fans off. I was also mildly jealous of the youth fans who are no allowed to have a betting logo on the shirt as this would result in a pretty cool shirt. But no - they've decided to replace the logo with a Virgin Media sticker so it bears no relationship to the shirt worn by the (male) players. Difficult times I guess, but I'm no a fan of these two decisions.
Still selling ld shirts at just £5 cheaper than the (fake) sports bet shirts? Lol, our clubs a joke sometimes.
I can kind of understand it to a degree. LD shirts aren't being made any more or worn by the teams so they're something of a rarity and therefore (theoretically) more desirable and collectible. £42 is taking the piss though.
That Arsenal shirt reminds me of raspberry ripple. Largely obsolete. Though I suppose everything makes a comeback at some point!
Anyone remember the Arsenal goalkeepers jersey....that looked like a pizza...that you'd just vomited up.
I was a goalkeeper back in the day and loved that Refresher kit.... I bought the full grey kit (full kit w&nker I know) and that goalkeeper kit went with the grey kit, tried to buy it but they didnt have my size. They are now so rare that they’re selling for about £500 in good condition.... gutted...!
Re kits, I have a quick question, I’m looking for the old early 90’s dimplex kit, I can’t find one anywhere, does any one know where I can get one?
