I agree that they should look to safely return fans to stadiums, but at the same time a fair number of those desperate to get back will also be those who are ignoring the rules, going to pubs with their mates etc. Whilst schools and work places are open it will be hard to control the spread, but people who are ignoring current guidelines (which I know is far from everyone) can hardly complain when they can't also get their own way around returning to the grounds.

I know of loads who met their mates to watch matches in the pub (both when it was against guidance and then against the rules) and there were loads who just put 5 of their mates in their "bubble" when registering for a return, which again they shouldn't have done, which won't give much confidence to anyone making a decision. A lot have ignored either advice or rules, no doubt helped continue the spread and are now frustrated that they can't get back to watching the football. I'll sign the petition because fans should be fairly safely able to go back but I hope those who have, and continue to, take the piss have a bit of a think on.

I think Football stadiums will be safer than most other places with regard to the likes of pubs and supermarkets etc. For people flouting rules that is just life in general, everybody doesn't follow the rules in any situation so to put it bluntly we just have to get on with it, anybody who has been directly or indirectly affected by the virus is a tragedy but it seems here amongst most of us now and chances are a lot of us will probably contract it or already have been. Think we just have to live with it

People do flout rules. But sometimes having been spoilt little twats who think they can do what they want, they have to realise that there are consequences. If they hadn't taken the piss, maybe grounds would be opening (or maybe not, we'll never know). This idea of "we haven't really followed the rules, we've all been out together to watch in the pub, we've registered any 5 mates in our bubble, but please let us come back and we promise we'll follow whatever protocols are in place" is ridiculous. People making the decisions know that a lot of these people won't follow, which means in theory it'll be less safe than in should be. I've got sympathy for everyone who is desperate to get back and who has tried, as best as possible, to follow the guidelines. I've got no sympathy for those who want to get back but think they should just be able to crack on and do what they want.

They could easily have 25k in our stadium, easily.

If they gave me the option to go in on condition of wearing a mask I’d gladly do it, you are in a large outdoor bowl, there’s minimum risk.

You could temporarily stop selling food and drinks to keep concourse clear, we wouldn’t like it but we’d accept it and again, minimal risk.

An outdoor stadium with a capacity of 49,000 surely is safer than a supermarket or an office with 1000 heads breathing shared air.

We capped the 25% of stadium capacity season ticket holders to 12,000 which were the original guidelines, If anything happens I cannot see it been more than this

Aye, I can’t either, but I genuinely think you could do more safely.

It wasn't capped to 12,000 tbf, was going to be totally dependent on the size of the bubbles people assigned themselves to. Could have been anything from around 10,000 to over 20,000. Depending on the number they'd have had to look at concourse capacity (which they hadn't yet done) . Certainly a decision hadn't been taken to restrict it to 12,000 though

They initially only sold 12,000. Then they introduced the thing where people put themselves into bubbles. At that point it was possible either that some who they had sold to wouldn't be able to get in (might have been a ballot or whatever for each match but some would miss out) or there might have been the potential to open sales back up again. In reality I think it would have ended up limited by the concourse more than anything else. Think they could easily have ended up with 15,000+ in terms of numbers following the bubble exercise, maybe more

They did follow an initial guidance of 25% though and stopped it there to await further information, bubbles were then introduced, I registered my bubble then the the Government just put a stop to the lot

Yeah they followed the 25% just to get a rough number registered so that they didn't have to disappoint too many people if the real number was less. They knew they could always open it back up again.

Edit: club doesn't know yet in terms of numbers, still waiting for confirmation

Sound mate, ya right it all depends on the bubble....I know me and my boy take up 6 seats and a group of 5 would only take up 9 seats so its all dependant on the size of all the bubbles....be good to hear some info mate:emoticon-0148-yes:

Just heard, apparently at the last meeting about it they were still waiting on the number from the people running the platform, so it's unlikely they've got an updated number unfortunately. But hopefully once they get the go ahead they'll be able to give us a number quite quickly

Mainly stuff about converting to a trust, think it's fairly routine stuff. Supporting the FSA calls for grounds to reopen, that kind of thing.
