Backed this when it ran at Newbury last year when it fell when in my opinion was coming to win the race. Been waiting for it to run since so assume its had some issues. I think he will improve for the time off and take this.

Does anyone know much about the ex - English flat runner Next Train's Gone? Makes his Irish debut over timber tomorrow for Patrick Turley in Galway @1.55. His last 3 runs before an injury culminated with 3 victories over the staying distances before an injury has kept him out until two more uninspiring runs in Kempton. His rating of 75 loosely translated to hurdles would see him able to play a hand in the placings of this event I would think, and he's available at 100/1. I think there is three horses in the race that look potentially handy but it's a lack lustre heat overall and if he were to run to anything like his best form on the flat, he could get involved at a huge price. It's a risk, that goes without saying, he changed hands for a mere 1,000 during the Summer and that would suggest he hasn't been showing much after the injury setback but soft ground at Galway and a steady pace might nudge some encouragement out of the gelding. Very speculative each way at 100/1 taken.

Onto a more likely winner now and Benefit Run 13/2 @ 5.15 has been running very well, in fact he seldom runs a bad race but getting him delivered at the right time is key as I don't believe he's the most resolute horse when push comes to shove. Sean Ó Keefe stays aboard and I think the finish at Galway might see him sweep around the last bend and go by before they can get back to him in an open race where over half the field have a chance, he looks the value.

I think Sue Smith will have a good day at Sedgefield. She runs several horses with a really good chance in my opinion.

    Ludlow

    2.40 Skewiff

Connection target this race for the 3rd time after Skewiff finished 3rd and 4th in 2019 and 2018 when racing of 2lb higher than today. Has won fresh and Isabel Williams (who won on him) takes off 5lb. Ground will suit and stable amongst the winners recently. At 22/1 on offer its worth a small each way bet.

    Morning.

Not a bad day yesterday with my darts.. about bloody time <laugh>

Today I think Declan Carroll will have a good day at Nottingham and have backed his 3 runners in singles and an e/w treble. Yard doing ok, runners being backed at Notts.

    12.00 - Louby Lou - 12/1
    3.10 - Jackamundo - 6/1
    4.15 - Montahassen 7/1

    Have a good day.

I cant really fathom the price about this one. A winner off a higher mark, fit from a spin on the level, goes on the ground and crucially Ms Barclay has retained the services of the yard apprentice from the barn he was previously housed in and who has won on him in the past. Seems an awfully big price under the circumstances, we shall see.

Devil's Angel for a modest punt in the last at Newcastle (20:15). Both career wins for this gelding have been at this track. Megan Nicholls rides for trainer Jedd O'Keefe.

Pulled up and a modest 4th from my two today. I'll wait until something more concrete comes along before putting up one's as speculative.

An enjoyable evenings racing from Kempton & Newcastle which are both potential graveyard tracks for me...

Lucky enough to land Culture @ 18/1 at Kempton and Kind Review @ 8/1 (rule 4 20p) in the last at Newcastle. Plenty of bets that went down as well but a day in profit is a day to be savoured <cheers>
