My and my cousin-in-law-to-be had a discussion of this - we watched Englands Women at the world cup, and thought, is it really necessary for them to play - they are ****e

They shouldn't be allowed to go to football matches or come onto football forums, they should be at the sink all day!

only compared to men! I know it is sexist, but this thread brought me back to the convo - Also my sister has been to every football match in the last 2 years that I have been to, so seeing matches is definately ok, and I'm sure that women who want to play footy can play it - i was just recognising the difference between men and women football

Hmm now that is a challenge... girls and football.. is it right?

Surely that depends..... would you rather we gabbed on about Dolce and Gabana or boy bands or nail polish or the latest heart throb or.... whether Pardew really should have made that decision or which was the best striker we ever had, or what formation we think would work best for the next match,
cos apparantly its important that you DO talk to us sometimes....

(posted from close proximity to the sink.. will that suffice?)

My girlfriend never had an interest in football except for hating Arsenal (her ex was an Arsenal fan and cried when they lost, genuinely). She always checks the score now and knows most of the players. I kinda like it. Although I don't think I could handle going to a game with her.

Also we were in Thailand in January for the 1-1 derby. When Gyan equalised she shouted '****' at the top of her voice in a full bar. Thing is it was 7pm and most people were just in there eating some food......................well I laughed

Anyone can watch a game of football and appreciate it, as we all know not everyone can play. I have watched the occasional ladies match on tv, can't say I would attend one, it doesn't appeal to me personally. Some sports don't always have the appeal when it's women competing, the obvious (for me) Rugby, Boxing, Cricket. I also thought some of the recent celebrations in the Ladies golf, (forgotten thename of the tournament) were a bit exuberant. The golf was ok by the way.

Saw a ladies boxing match once and it just didn't look right.
