It was a bad day, a very bad day, a really ****ing awfully bad day. But things will get better. We haven't got the depth of squad to cope with losing 2 defenders at a time yet and that cost us. We looked shell shocked after the first goal and never recovered, but you can't take anything away from Fulham's performance today, they really were a class outfit. We were fortunate that the team played so well together after the new players joined, I think this made us all believe that things were better than they were. We have a good basis for a team and hopefully with a few more choice acquisitions in January we will then have a strong enough squad to cope with injuries and suspensions. But let's not forget that its still early days and today was just a bad day, a very bad day etc. But there's no need to over react and panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DT, if a team beats you 2 nil, perhaps it's possible to say the best team won and declare "end of"; surely a six nil hiding, and yet another goalless outing (5 of 7, I think) requires a bit more scrutiny?
Random thoughts........It's been a bit of a weird start - only 1 game where both teams have scored, 3 clean sheets but 4 blanks......& we've been spanked twice. Prob the sort if erratic start we might have expected if we're honest but the 2 heavy defeats against average teams are a worry.....Chelsea, city & spurs to come.....a darkened room required. Lack of goals and confidence from JB a worry....think the system can work but DJ is much quicker, mobile & it seems hungrier so he deserves a chance. Look at the pace of the spurs v arse game......it's a different world in this league
The person I blame most today: Warnock. The back five were awful today. There was no leadership. Hall was particularly bad. I would have preferred Clint Hill on the left and Young at RB but someone thought it was necessary to send a really young player who needs more experience out on loan when we've got loads of back up options if there are red cards or injuries (sarcasm, just incase anyone didn't spot that). There wasn't enough confidence out there. Derry and Taarabt shouldn't have been brought off.
I agree London but best edit your statement to "some" fans got ahead of themselves. We're not all idiots who get drunk on the back of ONE win. This season is and always will be a slog and a fierce scrap to get the 39+ points needed. We'll do it but people need to keep their feet on the ground please!
Again, don't lump everyone into the same bracket Lone. We didn't all join the "we're going to finish eight" brigade!!
I'm losing faith with Bothroyd - he has no confidence to take defenders on in the box. In the second half, he had the ball at his feet unmarked in front of goal and passed it back to midfield! At least DJ looked as though he might score when he came on. Mackie did alright too, considering how long he's been out. I feel optimistic there.
Today's game makes some peoples claims that Bothroyd is the best ever striker we've had in the last 15 years (supposedly a "fact") look quite ridiculous. He has linked the play up alright in previous matches, but Warnock should have replaced him at half-time with HH, who always puts in a stint and makes the defenders know he's around. I also can't understand why Warnock persisted with SWP on the left or down the middle; when the chips are down, surely a return to basics would suit the situation meaning getting a winger into wide positions and crossing the ball.
Agreed, I cant remember who it was but they claimed Bothroyd is QPR's best striker in 15 years? absolute nonsense.
Yep mate I realise I shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush, season's a marathon not a sprint as the saying goes.
Couldn't have put it better myself Husk. It was some clown called Sam that gave us that little pearl of wisdom. As is the case with all these Mystic Meg's, he seems to vanished into thin air.
We have shown we can compete and just came up a very good side who know each other onside out We will be Ok
Just listened to NW on Talk Sport and he's holding his hand up for making the mistake of sending Clint Hill off to Forest. He sounded a bit rattled, understandably - And a great Warnockism - "If ever there was a day to play us today...it was today." Go and have a lie down, Neil
I saw little wrong in our approach play and have just watched AJ interview go on record as saying QPR didn't play badly but that Fulham took all their chances ... If fact it was 13 -10 on shots . Fans looked good great support and my boys and I will be back in UK for Blackburn game . We never gave up Zamora and Johnson just clicked today as they have in past
