I think the club were a little foolish to let this slip out on deadline day as with few actual transfers early on it got a mention on every broadcast
Got to laugh at the Sky reporter trying to include Bruno Fernandes in Uniteds Summer transfer business to make it seem as though have done well!
Oh for sure, the timing was dreadful. Especially as Partey is meant to be signing a contract worth £200k a week for 5 years. The lack of consideration for how this would make us look has been alarming. Our PR is really bad.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-wilshere/verletzungen/spieler/74223 He kept facing setback after setback then required surgery during the 11-12 season. As for the drug test rumours, if the club are denying it, what else are we supposed to assume? There's no way of proving whether that's true or not. And even if he was, as you're aware, he wouldn't be the first one to be guilty of doing something like that. It's not something unique to Wilshere. Also, a lot of this stuff you're bringing up is when he was about 19. Not saying that excuses ****ty behaviour, but he's clearly grown up a lot since he got married and had kids.
What I find weird is how they ignored the fans. Spurs and Liverpool backed down cos the fans kicked off big time. From my understanding so did you lot but your board just ignored them. That's Alan Sugar level of arrogance.
Yeah, he plays even less now! Wilshere was well known for what's euphemistically known as his party lifestyle. Paul Merson even told him to stay off the drink. Sczeszny let it slip about him getting comatose at his wedding. Drink, fags, fights, pulling random birds and hanging around with dodgy characters... That's fine for most of us, but we're not professional athletes!
One thing which I have questioned - and I honestly am not trying to make excuses for Arsenal here, I'm genuinely curious - is whether these decisions were purely motivated by COVID-19 or whether they were in the pipeline anyway. For example, we've completely dismantled the majority of our scouting network. Was this always going to be the plan? It's been well-documented that Arsenal have too many scouts compared to other clubs. And Edu had always discussed streamlining our operations even before COVID. So did this give us the 'right excuse' (for lack of a better phrase) to dismiss them from their roles? Not saying this justifies getting rid of them during the painful time when people are so uncertain about their livelihoods, but I do want to know what the plans were here, pre and post Covid. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much public information that specifies which departments were gutted and which ones were kept running like usual. However, the club absolutely should have done more to keep staff at the club or pay them off. The fact our players were given assurances that staff would keep their jobs with the paycut, and we went against that, is honestly disgraceful.
Maybe Gunnersoreass was the coke head and that's why he was sacked? Always seemed a bit too wired, even for a mascot. just sayin'...
Maybe Jack Wilshere is replacing Gunnersaurus? Not sure he's fit enough to be a mascot anymore, though.
Fulham signed Joachim Andersen on loan. He was someone we were quite strongly linked with a couple years ago. Not been too great in France with Lyon, be interesting to see how he does.
Harry Redknapp on SSN mentioning Spurs in a positive way every chance he gets. Shame Jamie slates Spurs all the time
Aouar rejected Arsenal and that’s why they went for Partey. Love how the Gooners are pretending he was first choice all along. That said, good signing
There’s got to be a catch or he would have ended up at Barca for that price Hopefully he stinks the place out, doesn't settle and is dogshit
Only other CB I can think of in the Championship worth looking at would be Fry at Boro. Unless of course we’re looking to bring Daws back that is
