Could be a good day for Rose Dobbin at Kelso today. Stable's horses have performed well recently (1 winner, 1 placed).

American Tom could start the meeting at Kelso with a winner for Lucinda Russell who is happy that the rain has arrived for her declared runners. From her website:

"American Tom returns to the track having been in good form at home; a free-going sort he has been settled recently and while we will find out more about him tomorrow this is a good starting point for him. Previously a chase winner for Willie Mullins we have schooled him over fences and he has that option later on this autumn."

    My arrows in France today,
    3.05 Stradivarius
    3.50 Tickle Me Green
    4.25 Make a Challenge
    4.55 Earthlight
    EW Lucky 15.
I’m hoping for loads of goals again in the Prem. Skybet have a Price Boost, Jamie Vardy to have a shot on target was 1/6 now evens. If this doesn’t happen I’m giving up! Have a great Sunday fellas. Good luck with yours :emoticon-0148-yes::emoticon-0167-beer:

    Sizing Pottsie 5/2 - Tippereary 3.38

This horse will appreciate the soft ground, he proved a different prospect when sent chasing early this year and only suffered defeat when unseating or falling. I expect him to be bounced out in front and make all. The step up in trip is also beneficial. Elliot saddles the useful favourite Galvin but I am hopeful Sizing will take him well out of his comfort zone if jumping as expected.

Great card at Longchamp today, the ground tempers my enthusiasm towards a bet there but good luck to all those having a go today <ok>

The only horse that I fancied backing at Longchamp on Saturday finished stone last. I am glad that I decided to give the whole card a miss because it looked more like ground for the Cheltenham Festival than Arc Weekend.

Whatever wins the two big two year old races will surely only be considered a prospect for the middle distance classics. The only way that either of them will throw up a Guineas prospect is if they are run like proper French races: married man’s gallop and a sprint in the straight. With St Mark’s Basilica out of the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère, the one to beat will be Coventry winner and Morny second Nando Parrado but I do not see him as a classic prospect. In the Prix Marcel Boussac, the bookies make the sole British raider, Richard Fahey’s Prix du Calvados winner Fev Rover, favourite but she does not have much in hand of the home defence.

In the Prix de l’Opéra, beaten Prix de Diane favourite and runner up Alpine Star is favourite again but does she really want bottomless ground making this more of a stamina test? The winner of that race Fancy Blue is absent and the only other member of the Classic generation that makes any appeal is unbeaten Tawkeel, who won the Prix Saint Alary but tackles really soft ground for the first time. Tarnawa put up a career best effort last time winning the Prix Vermeille comfortably and drops in trip here. Whilst stamina is not an issue, she was well beaten last time she encountered real soft ground. James Fanshawe’s Audarya caused something of an upset winning the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet last time having won a Newcastle handicap three weeks prior but I know somebody who knows one of the owners of runner up AMBITION and was told to back it each-way at 33/1 a few weeks back as it has been targeting this race.

Given that the bottomless ground will not be a concern to either of them, in the absence of Battaash the Prix de l’Abbaye looks to be between last year’s victor Glass Slippers and Denis Hogan’s Make A Challenge.

The heavy ground has really opened up the Prix de la Forêt. Veteran Safe Voyage is a proper mudlark and is sure to give a great account and the mare One Master seeks a hat-trick in the race on a day that could see two completed. The Prix Du Pin is the clear form race of interest with winner Earthlight, runner up Tropbeau, fourth Spinning Memories and fifth Pretreville all re-opposing. Earthlight has not encountered this type of ground before and two of the horses that beat him in the Prix Maurice de Gheest blanket finish are unintentionally absent. The filly Tropbeau is proven on very soft ground and may reverse the form.

Couldn't believe my eyes on that Vardy bet, however you can only have a maximum bet of £10 on it.

    First at Kelso
I took 2s ealier on kaiser , was not really a bet then and def isnt now at odds on.
Xpo universal may be worth an ew in the 2nd especially with a 10lb claimer at odds of around 12s with cd win.
Small rf in the 3rd shamroe street followed by damiens dilemma .
In the 5th i will be backing chesterfield at around 3s

    Hello peeps

    Telly picks are:

    Utt

140 Glengar looks to have this with STD in the plate for the first time

216 If you must bet in this race, the Skelton’s Ever So Cool shaped well last time though she looks to need further than this.

246 Emitom has the best hurdles form, but has to convert it to fences - like all the others!

    Long

150 Two from my tracker in this – Fev Rover and Thunder Beauty, will have to do both!

225 Ebraz looks a solid fav in the slow horses race, but Fazza Al Khalediah has beaten him before and can do so again at better odds.

305 The one that matters. On sentiment alone, I’d love Stradivarius to win this and he’ll carry my 6d

    Good luck all <ok>

I am beginning to think that Stradivarius might just be the bet at the prices with this heavy ground. Sotttass also can’t be dismissed.

    15:05 Longchamp - Sottsass

Difficult to work-out how the Arc will pan-out this year for obvious reasons. Backed selection on Thursday at 9/1. The fact that I have selected Sottsass will certainly stop it winning, and therefore give Enable and Straddy an even better chance! :emoticon-0100-smile

Hope this is not 'a bridge too far' for Enable, would love to see this wonderful racing mare win it, but I dunno. Straddy, hard to figure-out in these bog-like conditions? So, as they say down here in Munich where I live, "Schau ma mal" (has a few meanings, but in this case it would be "we'll see").

Erm, getting closer!. Selection yesterday, Fifty Ball, ran well at Fontwell to finish 2nd of 12-runners. There's a race or two in this French-bred hurdler, I would think.

Enjoy Longchamp today guys, some fine racing there regardless of the boggy ground! <cheers>

Let's see if Saint Roi can lay down a very early Champion Hurdle marker here

Still quite novicey at his hurdles - only his 4th start though and will surely come on for that. I wonder of they will step him up in grade for the Morgiana?

No shots on target as yet. Whatever trader at Sky proposed that enhancement, 1/6 to Evs is on for a massive bonus if it stays as it is. Could not think of one Skybet punter who would not have had a piece of that, tenner max I know but even if 50,000 accounts had a go at a tenner!

Wow Saint Roi has gone as short as 10/1 for the Champion Hurdle after that - a bit fanciful at this stage you'd think, 20s would be more like it.

Don't know why ITV not showing Uttoxeter like they said they were on yesterday's Opening Show.
That said the 140 N0v Chase was a bit of a shambles apart from the very convincing winner Easy Bucks.

Fev Rover / Thunder Beauty next at Long
