Much appreciated Smug. There seemed to be a few encouraging bits of info last night so fingers crossed things are moving towards a happy ending.

I should add that I'm only speaking for myself and not acting the self-elected forum spokesman. Other people have much more info than me and will post when they can. I just wanted to avoid an RTG situation where every other post is someone asking the same question.

I've just had a serious message, from a lad who started messaging me about Storey before he first came on the radar. (I don't know him, he just pm'd me on here.)

He's saying it's between Storey and 'FPP' which is what's complicating, and protracting, things.

I have to say, I'm not simply accepting this ...

... but it does make you look twice tbh.

 

I don't know what to make of storey and his intentions but it would help if he named his backers. If he has 4 very wealthy people then I think fans would be more acceptable of him.

 

I guess the problem you face is anyone could summise that it’s between Storey and FPP right now, and so it must be so difficult for you and others to sort the wheat from the chaff. Must be tedious.

Like last week at the wedding some bloke said to me “oh I heard Donald had agreed to sell to some Americans”. When I pushed further he said “he’d read it on a message board”. He wasn’t trying to be ITK, just making conversation at a wedding (he’s a Peterborough fan, which was fun on Saturday). But the way information travels through these Chinese whispers must make it difficult to verify anything you hear unless it’s from somebody who’s been right for you before.

 

If he's doing all this for publicity he's failing miserably.

No one outside Sunderland is paying any attention, not even the Mags are mocking, and our support is laughing at him.

Even if he's deluded I think he believes he can garner enough support and backing.

Let's be honest, if Donald is left with no other option he'd sell to Storey ...

... he's already left the club imo, even if that's metaphorically.

I agree, he’s a bit eccentric but if he’s not the biggest backer/shareholder he’s just the frontman, it could be fun. I’d prefer that to smarmy Methven.

 

Yeh make no mistake - if Storey comes up with the right cash, Donald will sell to him. We just have to hope he doesn’t.

Anybody saying he’s definitely a non-starter is being overly optimistic in that regard. Sure it feels very unlikely right now but it wouldn’t be right to not be worried. Too much of what he’s doing makes no sense to be anything other than genuine even if slightly bewildering.

Sadly I get more info about Newcastle as a London fella I 'know' is in the circle of associates who Ashley drinks and gambles with.

He told me, chapter and verse, about Ashley binning Staveley the first time. I posted details a month before it happened.

That doesn't stop some wums claiming I make everything up though.

He's the one giving me hints about the HMRC case at NUFC. The latest is that they're considering asking for the books for the previous 6 years as they believe there's more to come. He believes if that's correct, and they find something incriminating, they can go further back again.

As Ashley, Shepherd, Hall snr & jnr, etc are all iffy that could go all the way back to Westwood and McKeag
