I haven't seen anything to confirm Godfrey has gone to Everton, bids have been received for Cantwell and Buendia or that the three players surplus to requirements have left. Could someone nearer the action update me please.
Godfrey had a medical at Everton today and, subject to that being ok, will move to them for £25m + £5m in add ons, a considerable return on our £150k paid for him four years ago. Cantwell and Buendia are attracting journo led rumours but no sign of anything concrete.
Sorry to be a nuisance but due to storm damage last week our broadband is being limited to 4 hours a day. What about the 3 players not wanted by DF?
Sorry, 1950, but there was some interest in Leitner from Werder Bremen, but there's not been much about that lately. Trybull had some interest from Turkey but again not much lately. I suspect that if nothing materialises, loan deals may be arranged. Hope that helps.
Good one DD, I remembered he is French and we signed him from Ireland but had to look up which club. Drogheda.
Good question. Seems to be still at the rumour stage but Cuisance failed his medical, so they may up their interest now: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co....ch-citys-cantwell-missing-bayern-munich-star/
Today's BBC Gossip column quote Football insider "reporting" an improved Leeds Utd bid for Cantwell. Didn't DF say on Friday that the club had had no bid of any sort for Cantwell?
As I understand it the window for clubs signing Norwich players ends on the 16th of October, Is that correct ?
For English clubs, yes. Today is the last day for European clubs; their window shuts at 11pm tonight.
Everton have confirmed the signing of defender Ben Godfrey from Norwich for £25m, which could increase to £30m with add ons. The 22-year-old former England U21 captain has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League leaders. Godfrey said: “The aim for me at Everton is to win trophies and win games. I like to win. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I care and I am a passionate lad. Is he the last?
Check out Sky's headline. https://www.skysports.com/football/...complete-20m-signing-of-defender-from-norwich
Good move for him Everton are playing well and just about to move to a new fancy stadium. I hope we get money when he gets an England cap as that is a cert . I reckon we could have held out for more money but if Ben wanted the move best to let him go .
Yes. While Premier League clubs cannot trade players between themselves and/or European clubs beyond 11pm tonight, they can still trade with clubs in the EFL and lower domestic leagues. Edit: As I understand it, the extended window for domestic clubs is primarily aimed at facilitating the loan market, on which so many EFL clubs now depend. With Premier League squads basically settled by 11pm tonight, players surplus requirements will be loan targets for Championship and other EFL clubs.
