Talking to a guy a few weeks ago, who was with him at Newcastle's academy, his word's were "he always thought he was better than he actually was"
Clearly a player unable to roll up his sleeves and drive the team. We've all come across players that only enjoy the game when they're winning/scoring.
He’s clearly got some talent and he may do well somewhere else but he wasn’t what we wanted or needed and maybe this league is his level
No **** Mr Holmes, it’s simple to work out my dear Watson, He is so far up his own arse it’s ridiculous, coupled that with being an arrogant prick.. There is your answer!!!!
They've cleverly used the Maddison signing to distract from them selling Bonne to QPR for £2m. I know Charlton fans said he missed a lot of chances, but he was still their top scorer and got double figures in the Champ. At L1 level, he'd probably of been pushing 20 goals this season. From our point of view, they've got weaker so it's great business. Also on MM, from an outsider always found it bizarre that despite P'boro having great firepower, they've not got promoted over the last few years. I know they've been close, but when you have either Toney/Marriott/Washington banging in 15+ a season, MM creating similar and scoring nearly double figures too, the rest of their side must be complete horseshit.
Maybe he’s going to realise he ****ed up when he had the chance in the Championship. I suppose we’ll see how he goes on.
Whats the curry sauce like? Sultanas or no sultanas? Hot or sweet? You can't make statements like this without providing important **** like this.
Peterborough were always a safe bet for more than 3.5 goals a game, because the team they got promoted to the Championship with had a great strike force (McLean, Boyd, Mackail Smith) and a decent keeper (Joe Lewis I think) but had a garbage central midfield and defence.
Playing catch up here but didn’t Posh fans warn us about the players attitude prior to his short stint with City?
As things turned out, they weren't bitter and twisted about losing him - they had him summed up perfectly.
Bowen was not a **** deal! Brewster is moving from the premiership champions and we where a championship team. We could never command a fee the same as Brewster for example. Watkins was the champ top scorer and villa as they always do overpaid for yet another player.... If anything id say Liverpool got a **** deal for Brewster!
The Bowen deal was immense from our perspective. Both the players you've mentioned are better than Jarrod and by some distance. QPR got £15m rising to £19m for Eze, very similar to what we got for Bowen. Eze's a special player. Easy to forget as Bowen's done well but there were loads of question marks over him making the step up, as a winger he's not blessed with lightning pace and West Ham were the only club interested in him permanently. There was an auction for Brewster, Eze, and Watkins with 2/3 clubs in for each. We've done some bad business over the years, but this was right up there with the best.
Agreed. Bowen's workrate, focus & consistency is not high calibre level. Compared to someone like Grealish, way down the list.
