    Arsenal (h) 4-4 0-0
    Sunderland (a) 1-1 0-1
    Fulham (h) 0-0 2-1
    QPR n/a
    Aston villa (a) 1-0 1-1
    Blackburn (h) 1-2 3-1
    Wolves (a) 1-1 1-2

    From the six games we played against these teams last year, we gained 4 points. This year, we have gained 14, an improvement of 10. So realistically, to be shoe ins for top 7, starting from now we need only match last years results. Think where an extra 10 points would have got us last season and we have already got that. Also, we failed to beat any of these sides last year, and we have beaten them 4 times this year. The trick will be to see if we can step up to the big boys in the manner we did last term.

    Its nice to be beating the teams that we will probably be in and around at the end of the season, its looking like a marked improvement in this area from last season, just hope we can still get a few unexpected results against the bigger teams aswell and hopefully sneak a top 8 spot.

    I actually do believe that Newcastle could do much better than anyone expects this season. On the other hand I always do, so that means **** all.

    What I would like is to people to keep underrating us and putting it down to pure luck. I do think we've had a bit of luck this year so far, but we're doing far better right now than pure luck could carry us.

    Still, at the end of the day I would be delighted to have just a top half finish and no relegation drama at all.

    Was just thinking this actually. So going by these stats we should pick up 6 points from Spurs/Wigan as we drew both them games last season :)

    It's just good to be winning games we should be winning (Fulham and blackburn at home).

    We'll be doing much better winning these games instead of having those heroic 2-2 draws at Stamford Bridge and holding United at SJP. I understand they're more exciting to a certain extent, but it's always been so frustrating doing that!

    We did get 13 points from relegated teams as well so I would look at them this way

    18. Birmingham ---------> 1. QPR
    19. Blackpool -----------> 2. Norwich
    20. West Ham ----------> 3. Swansea

    If that's the case we have drawn 0-0 with QPR away whereas we beat Birmingham away 2-0.

    I'd still back us to beat all 3 at home and either Norwich or Swansea away to retrieve the 13 points from relegated teams like we did last season.

    Phew, all this over thinking requires me to sit down!
